I am so happy with the maracas. I carefully measured the ones I already had from a thrift store, and read the measurements of the ones on Amazon, and they are the exact size. I use them for a sing-a-long with some senior citizens and they love it. The thrift store no longer carries them but I'm so glad Amazon does, and the sound quality is perfect.... doesn't drown out the singing!!!! ... show more

These are solid wood and much sturdier than expected. My 2-year-old niece absolutely loves them, I think partly for the bright colors. She gets better at making sounds almost every time she picks them up, which is an opportunity to build confidence by praising her improving skills. She’s doesn’t fully understand yet, but she will soon. For a younger child, adults could shake them until the child is ready to do it on their own. Not what I expected. They're too small and they're supposed to have beads in them. They don't even make any noise. If you buy these you're wasting your money.

I did a photo shoot for my daughters 2nd birthday and the photographer had these to get her to look at the camera and smile. I asked her for the link because my daughter loved them! They are so easy for her to grip and shake. The sound is great and the quality as well. Highly recommend.
