  • Lifts up rocks too
What I thought was going to be back breaking turned out to be a lot easier than I thought, thanks to this tiller. It did arrive needing to be put together which actually wasn't that bad or hard to do. Once put together, this thing was ready to go. The handles and grips are really comfortable to hold, even with dirty gloves or sweaty hands. This seemed to cut through the hard dirt that was in my front area like nothing. I was even pulling rocks out of the ground with this thing. Even with the rocks, it didn't dent or bend the prongs at all. This cut through the dirt and mixed the soil with no real effort. I now have a beautiful front garden area and I ended up doing the back as well this thing tiller. ... show more

  • Don't know how I ever went without.
I have an 8ft by 8ft raised garden bed. This little tiller changed the game! It worked so well! Made weeding and turning the soil easier than doing it by hand with a shovel. Its not too heavy, but it takes a little arm muscle to turn.

  • It works great.
Works great! First I thought what am I getting and how easy will it tear up the ground. All the videos shows people using it in already tilled dirt which would make it easy to use. It worked good on this hard ground, just twist it in rock it around pull up and do it again to go deeper. Only thing is the wing nuts to put the handle on yhe head of it works loose really easy. Maybe a locking nut or some lock tight in the components of the bag. But it works great even for an old man!! ... show more

  • hand till to save fuel & electricity, great for sandy soil, plenty of length, comfort handles
Easy to put together. The 17.5" measurement refers to the width of the handle. I was concerned that it I was going to be seriously hunched over if it was an indication of length. I figured not, and as expected it is thirty something inches long. Plenty of length to comfortably hand till. I have sandy soil which is pretty easy to work with. This cuts through very easily. I have a motorized tiller, but it is a pain to get working. I dont need it for a large area, I just want to turn over some land for a small garden. Also works for working through some weeds. I imagine it is easiest on soft land, or land that has been worked over before. Not sure if I would try it on hard packed clay. But who knows. Not me, anyway. Though an upcoming project may actually encounter firmer dirt. We'll see. Very sturdy, strong. From top to bottom is is a durable metal. Handles are covered in thick rubber for grip and comfort. Very easy to put together, just slide in 4 bolts and washers, then twist the butterfly nut on to each. Be sure to tighten it up really well less it feels shaky. After shopping around I decided on this as I got this at a good price, it looked like it would do the job, and so I went for it. I am pleased so far. Just starting to get my vegetable garden going, and I needed to turn some dirt and grass over. This is a handy little thing. Also, I think it is important to have tools that dont require gas or electricity. If you can hand till something, I say go for it. My next project will be for some up coming landscaping jobs that I get hired for. More challenging stuff, and I am curious how this will hold up. I figure it is much easier to travel with a hand till than a machine. I have good muscle strength, so I imagine I can use it under nearly any condition. I'll report back if I experience anything worth sharing. So far so good. 5 stars from me! ... show more

  • Great Tool and a back saver
Very easy to assemble, light weight and gets the job done quick...without sacrificing your back. Wish I would have bought this many years ago.

  • Bent almost immediately
I did one raised bed and then started weeding around the house and I must have hit a root because this bent up. Hoping to bend it back and be good as new.

  • Much easier to till the ground!
First time gardener and I was really having trouble tilling. The hoe just DOESN'T work. Who even uses that thing? I guess if the ground has been tilled before it might work... Anyway the cultivator is cheap enough that I'm not going way over budget on my garden and it is so much easier than shoveling or hoe-ing. I would probably want it just a teeny bit taller but other than that it's awesome and it came with some gardening gloves. Thanks!! ... show more
