So far this is working very well. We started off with a different brand of door that did not work very well at all. We replaced it with this one and we are so pleased with it. It works well, it opens and closes smoothly and quietly. We did set the timer to open and close at specific times because in the beginning it was set with the sunlight settings. A few times it closed a little early and some chickens did not make it in on time and we had to open the big door and let them in. I am very impressed with this system so far. I can not speak for the battery at this time due to we just have not had it long enough yet, but I like that a light will flash to let you know when it needs replaced. ... show more

Seems decent so far, very interesting how it goes together so we’ll see if the string and such hold up over time, no super complicated to put together, although programming is a little iffy. Battery life doesn’t seem to be the best though, and since you have to reset it every time you replace the batteries is can be a pain ... show more

I have had this door installed and operating for 6 months now just replaced the batteries, Duracell. After the initial set I have not any problems. It is covered so water is not an issue, so far very satisfied and waiting to see how it does in colder weather. Would definitely recommend

    • Doesn’t work and NO Help troubleshooting
Installed door, calibrated it, set a schedule, it went down at night and never came up. Went to check on it said it was jammed- but there was nothing jamming it, nothing in the way, tried troubleshooting all I could, taking batteries out pressing buttons, trying to recalibrate it, looking up videos- nothing worked- called 1x and emailed several times with finally a response back saying they’ll ask their tech team… Then I emailed a few more times and no response. The chickens have been without a working door for 10 days now terrible customer service that they won’t get back to me and they don’t have a solution for this- I returned it.save yourself the headache-I do not recommend this product! ... show more

I bought and returned a different band here on the Zon as it was claimed to be made in USA and solar, battery, and power but it did not work...... Then I saw this one and thought well Manna Pro is a good brand lets try it.... SO HAPPY!!!!!!!! I use 4 AA batteries and have had it going for 2 weeks and they are still @ 99% life. This door opens as it should and took me 10 minutes to install ( I was not organized prob could have done it faster.) SO great!!!!!! Thank you Manna Pro ... show more

    • Good product, impossible to kill chickens with it. Could be made with better materials
I chose this particular door for two reasons: 1) It had the option to run on external electric OR battery 2) And for the fact that it is gravity controlled, not mechanically controlled with the potential to guillotine my birds as I've seen in some product reviews. The product works well on the 6v power supply I bought separately. I can't speak to battery life because I'm not using that. Battery will be on an as-needed basis. Product quality is good enough for the job and the door is thick aluminum but the frame could be made with heavier materials to provide better security against more determined predators. ... show more

Batteries last a week, week and a half at best. You have to completely reprogram it every time you change the batteries. I’m using new, good quality rechargeable batteries. I keep it on the timer function thinking that at least it removes one variable but even then randomly it doesn’t open or close. Pretty expensive “automatic” door that I have to check on twice a day. I was pretty pleased with it at first, which might explain the better reviews…Thought that the simplicity of the system would manifest in reliability and durability. Nope. It’s not rocket surgery, will probably build my own next time. Update 8/8/23 Bricked after using a 6V power supply. Tried it after much battery drain frustrations, really didn’t want to stretch a cord out there. If the manufacturer is too cheap to put 2 cent components on a board to protect it from generic 6V adapters it really should come with one. But hey they made a few bucks and we all have another piece of junk to landfill. ... show more
