  • I’ve used these for years for my kayaks.
If you’re looking for a strap for a kayak this is all you need. Don’t waste your money on box store brand ratchet straps. 1. Ratchet traps if not careful you will ruin your kayak. 2. Ratchet straps with hooks won’t stay in place sometime unless you really ratchet them tight. Which you don’t want to do on a kayak. 3. Ratchet straps will fail at……the ratchet. It will rust and become hard to be undone. 4. Cam straps with hooks have similar problems as ratchet straps. They are better for your kayak but you can have problems with the hooks staying in place if the kayak moves some. Ratchet straps have their place but not with hauling a kayak. Buy several sets of these. If you throw kayak the bed of a truck but 3 and a bed extender. Run one across end of bed extender through its loops for the nose of the kayak. Leave it there forever and you never have to completely remove. Use one for each side handle then trim with extra 12 inches of strap. 3 of these is all you ever need to haul a kayak. Drive it like you stole it and bring it home safely. ... show more

  • Fantastic straps - one complaint
These are the best cargo straps I have used. I have four of them now. Heavy duty. Easy to use. Well-built. My only complaint is that every once in a while I'd like to have a couple more feet of strap. It seems 18 feet is the largest size they make.

  • Off brand value
Can you ever have too many cam straps? Probably not. Bought this two pack to eliminate the need for multiple straps to attach two kayaks to a roof top rack for transport. Great length - we can use one strap on each end to attach both boats. Tensile strength seems as described, and the straps "feel" as one would expect heavy duty cam straps to feel. They have shown little wear after a season of water, sun, salt, sand and grit. The metal buckles are spring loaded and heavy duty - no rust or wear issues. The black plastic pieces (buckle guards, maybe?) have not fared well. Given our use of these, not much point to them. They never stayed in place, didn't really offer the kind of protection they seemed intended for, and have become torn over the season. Not a reason NOT to buy these or award any less stars, but worth knowing if that's why these look like a good deal. While you can compare to NRS Straps, these NRS 1in Tie-Down Straps were not long enough, and these NRS NRS 1in. HD Tie Down Straps , while comparable in price, cost double by the time shipping was added. If you can find a deal with free shipping, they'd be every bit as good if not better...but at the time I was buying, these Malone straps were the best deal on Amazon. ... show more

  • Excellent product
Excellent product. Use it for hauling a roof top kayak. That kayak isn't going anywhere!

  • Not as expensive as Thule. But also not as good. " Worth the price."
Great belt except the buckle cover is a little thin at the sharpest part of the buckle. If it hits your car it may do damage. Thule has rubber buckle cover which is thicker but they cost three times as much. For the price these are my back up set.

  • Great roof-mount straps.
These are great straps. Most kayak users eventually wish they had longer straps, but long straps can be hard to find. The protective cover over the mechanism is great because you can throw the head of the strap over the kayak and not have to worry about scraping the paint on your car. I'd recommend this to anyone who realized they really wanted a longer strap. ... show more

  • Better than Thule straps
Bought these to have a spare set. They are definitely thicker than Thule straps for kayaks. They work great. The protector over the buckle isn't quite as good as the Thule tho, but sufficient. Just need to be a bit more diligent with them. Great product so far.
