  • Most powerful battery powered impact gun I’ve seen
Great impact, gets bolts off that my air powered impact couldn’t

  • Power and runtime are good.
Seems pretty strong. I'm mostly using this for 5/8" and 3/4" bolts and wedge anchors. So far I'd say it is sufficient. With the 5ah battery it has a long runtime. I think I put in 80 - 5/8" wedge anchors and had 1 battery bar missing. Even with the adjustable impact per minute button, I still carry 2 impact tools, this and the standard Makita 1/4" shank impact for 3/8" anchors and up to 1/2" bolts. I have not used it for automotive, so I don't know what it's like on a rusted suspension bolt, but it seems very capable. Update 3-31-19: Tool is still working well. I put in 160 - 1/2" x 3" screw wedge anchors and had 1 bar remaining on the 5ah battery. The screw anchors take a little more battery per bolt as it's not just tightening but driving threads into concrete. I brought 2 batteries for the 210 anchors I had to do, so it worked out fine without needing a charge. Not sure if that runtime is good or bad, just a reference for anyone doing concrete anchor bolting. ... show more

  • Not made in Japan as the listing shows. assembled in USA
heavy but good product, easily took down lug nuts on auto shop all day on single 5ah battery. the quality a little deceiving since for $399, expecting it to be true to the made in Japan and not assemebed in USA from various countries. will revisit after using it a year to see if this review needs to be updated to 5 star. ... show more

  • Absolute ripper
This is a heavy hitter of a gun. I bought the tool and a 5.0 Ah battery and it hasn't failed yet. I use this for lug bolts and stubborn fasteners and it's perfect. The battery life is great thanks to the brushless motor. The 5.0 Ah battery lasts me multiple weeks without issue. No complaints here other than it being a bit heavy. ... show more

  • Feed the BEAST
This bad-boy has so much torque and power it makes air-wrenches obsolete in my opinion. I am an OEM rep and use it to uncrate large machinery. It's funny watching the 'professional riggers' try to drag out the clock and spend +4 hours taking bolts out w/ their socket wrenches. They get paid by the hour, I get paid by the job. With the Makita it literally turns hours of work into minutes, breaking any bolt w/ ease. The 6.0 Ah battery is barely even phased at the end of the day and could probably do multiple jobs on a single charge. Only downside is others you work with will be jealous of their inferior tools. ... show more

  • Took rusty 18mm bolts like nothing
It's a certified beast. Heavy, but that should be expected. I recently changed my ball bearing assembly on my car, the whole assembly held on by 4 18mm bolts. No sweat, they didn't have a chance, first trigger pull on max settings, it took them off like they were nothing. Other times, this would require me to soak these bolts for hours with WD40 and scrape my knuckles with a breaker bar and maybe spend 30min-1hr replacing the ball bearing. I'm not even gonna mention wheel nuts, those are a joke to this tool. Literally no effort, no matter who tighten them with air tools or how long it's been rusting. ... show more
