I have a 16 port network switch mounted on a wall in my attic . I don't know if the original fans were just a cheap design or just weren't meant to operate in that orientation, but they began to make horrible stopping and starting grinding noises that could be heard throughout the house. These units are very small but they work good. They move a good amount of air. They are however a little loud but for the amount of air they move, it is worth it.

In a pinch, you can't beat these fans, 4 for $12, that's a great price.....but you get what you pay for. I needed to replace the stock hotend fan and mainboard fan on my Anycubic Mega S 3D printer. After 2 years they were starting to make a terrible buzzing noise when warming up. So I picked up a pack of these. My 1st issue w/ them is that the 2pin connector on these fans were not the same as the stock fans, but I can't blame the fan for that. After replacing the connector and installing the fans I was very impressed, these fans were very quiet compared to the stock fans. Unfortunately, only after a week or two these fans started to buzz and make the same horrible noise as the stock fans. Once they are "warmed" up they stop buzzing, but no new fan should be acting this way. Next time I will just spend the extra and get Noctua fans. ... show more

This may be a case of getting what you pay for. The fan is described as being quiet but its not really. You can clearly hear an annoying hum. But it's a lot quieter than the fan it replaced in my DVR. I have a second DVR of the same brand but different model. You can barely hear the fan in it. I only needed one fan but it's sold in a package of 4 for less than the price of some single fans being sold. ... show more

I'm using this as a cooling fan for a plasma generator circuit (rather than for a 3D printer). It works great. It easily moves the air well enough to cool off some power resistors and a power transistor heat sink, it's very quiet, and runs on 12VDC, which is exactly what I needed.
