Traditional hay breaks down sooner than Aspen. The poo washes through more easily than hey or chips. I would love to buy this product without the paper for ease of use and cut cost. The chickens do lay eggs on these and they are so much easier to lift out and shake off to clean than the straw that they immediately kick out of the laying boxes. I'm sold on these. They last a long time so a good bargain.

We’re on our second purchase of these. With routine coop/nesting box cleaning we’ve gotten a good few months out of them. Eggs stay clean & the girls seem to like them. The only reason some come apart that’s I’ve found is when our hens pull the fibers out to build their own nest! Great product.

These fit perfectly in the nesting boxes. I like the paper on the bottom because it helps keep the bottom of the boxes cleaner if the hens break an egg. Easy to replace as well.
