  • pretty good for the size and price
First whats good; the figure looks great. a good amount of paint combined with an interesting design leads to a beutiful looking figure that looks exectly like the cgi render from the trailer. the possing is great with good range in the knees going more than 90 degrees and the feet have a downward tilt. the only accesory is his wrecking ball, but it doesnt incude a chain or the mount of the chain, which doubles as the gun he uses in the trailer. this is dumb because both of the weapons hes advertised as using, the chain mace and gun he doent have. the transformoration its a little fiddly and feels incomplete with how the legs work, there are only 2 tabs to suggest the idea of holding them in place. the lower legs to TR kup so thats very good. The alterate mode though suffers from dumb problems. Like how the crane boom pushes crap out of place so it every thing feels like playdough. if they just had the hands flip around into the arms then had the crane boom be an accesory and be a mass of hinges for the chain then we could have gooten a good alt mode and good accesories, (minus the gun), but no because dumb there isn't the right way to have done it. the fists also stick out from the back of the cab againg making the back look off. but dont let these faults discourage you I just want to let you know everything bad about the figure, it looks very good and poses well. I recomend it to any studio series collector who like the compex transformations. ... show more

  • Terracons, TERRORIZE
Really excited about the new Rise of the Beasts film coming this summer so decided to get Battletrap in honor of it and after seeing several reviews. In hand impressions don't disappoint! As seen in promos and videos, Battletrap in hand is a really great looking figure with a ton of mechanical detail and paint. Out of the Rise of the Beasts studio series, I think he's a close second to Scourge and doesn't disappoint in either modes. Included mace also looks great with its silver paint, though I wish Battletrap came with a gun or blaster arm. Would have been a perfect figure if not for a few major gripes. For one, the shoulders are kinda loose on my copy and the arms are kinda annoying to fiddle around with because of the tow truck kibble or "tonfas" on the arms. Best configuration I've found is leaving them untransformed from vehicle mode and flipping them backwards to be more flush with the arms. Secondly, truck mode looks great but feels a little incomplete. I don't know if it's cause I literally just cracked him out of the box and am not used to his transformation or just issues with my copy but finishing the truck doesn't feel satisfying, especially with the side panels not fully closing to match the cab. Overall though, definitely don't regret this purchase and highly recommended as the first figure for Rise of the Beasts or for returning transformer fans like myself (haven't collected since Dark of the Moon). ... show more

  • Fiddle figure
Battletrap is a nice figure. But the truck doesnโ€™t come together fully on the cab. There is a bit of fiddle to the transformation but looks good.

  • Great Terrorcon Tbh
So I was hesitant at first when BattleTrap had first released. Especially since TF 7 isnโ€™t out yet, but based on how he looks in the trailer, the character is mostly accurate. Great articulation. Comes with an excellent backdrop and this character keeps growing on me the more I look at him. Highly recommend for any transformers fan. ๐Ÿ’ฏ ... show more

  • Big, frustrating issues hold back a great-looking figure
Transformers Studio Series voyager-class Battletrap, from the upcoming 2023 film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, looks great and has nice articulation, but is also a frustrating mess that may leave buyers angry. The major issues every prospective buyer needs to know about: - sizeable "kibble" dangling off each forearm and sticking out no matter how it's positioned - a frustrating transformation where much of the vehicle shell has to snap into place very tightly across the fenders, this feels scary and is hard to engage - a very hollow back half of the torso - vehicle mode suffering a lot of "kibble" with the forearms and feet showing - a decorative piece that can easily move out of place during transformation to cause the vehicle mode to misalign where the cab meets the body That's a lot of baggage to deal with, on top of normal little drawbacks like spindly arms, the lazy shoulder connection, the back plate coming off easily, undersized and unusable towing gear, the tow bar coming apart when the wrecking ball isn't attached, and so on. Yet it's those big things that are serious enough to really frustrate some folks, I know several fans who sent this action figure back because they were so annoyed. I do like this Battletrap figure, it looks really cool, it's got good articulation, nice fine-detail sculpting, interesting paint and colors. I like the wrecking ball accessory that fits around either hand and can store on the back. Aside from the hands sticking out, the truck looks great, especially the front half. But I can't deny that it does have its share of issues, and I would hesitate to recommend it to a friend without at least letting them try it before buying. Studio Series ROTB Battletrap has high highs, but there are drawbacks and frustrations that really hamper this toy. ... show more
