To create their potion, combine water with the included magical ingredients in the Potion Bottle. The potion will swirl and mix to become a deep dark blue color within the bottle. After my daughters got others in the set for Christmas, I ended up purchasing Deerlee here so I could play with them (no shame! None at all! They're only this little once!) After seeing the gimmick of the magic mixing potion a few times already, I would have appreciated an option for someone who JUST wants the doll and is good on the experience of unboxing it. Don't get me wrong, the experience IS fun! It's a little messy but that's easy to combat, and the blue liquid dries clear. It's just time-consuming, and, yes, pretty wasteful, even though the QR code gives you ideas for how to repurpose the bottle. If you are trying to "collect them all", though, as our family is? That's a lot of bottles, and they end up, inevitably, in the recycling bin with the hopes that the center can take them. The dolls themselves aren't a SUPER great value for what you get, but they're lovely. The faces are pretty, detailed, and fun to look at, the clothes are charming, the scale is unusual but great for dollhouses. The hair is a high-quality nylon. I'm super glad that the Mixies franchise has expanded to high-fantasy humanoid dolls because these are lovely, and look as good on the shelf in my office as they do hopping around a playscape. ... show more

I stumbled upon this doll while looking for a birthday present for my friend's daughter. The unicorn girl in particular caught my eye as the prettiest sculpt with the cutest hair and outfit. The price is also a great deal. I liked it so much I also bought one for myself. The bottle reveal gimmick is cute and fun for kids, but I was disappointed that they seemed to skimp out on the amount of sequins/confetti that you sprinkle into it. I was expecting a swirly glitter type concoction but it's just colored water that turns clear for the doll reveal. This is genuinely a fun product but I recommend taking the doll out before you do the potion feature if you want to keep her dry. Also read the instructions thoroughly before adding water, I added water first and it almost overflowed. The doll is really cute though. She does need her hair fixed though to look like the art and promos. Her stand also doesn't do much since her hair is heavy and her shoes are a soft plastic. It’s very easy to understand, I managed to NOT create a mess, it’s small enough to do just about anywhere, and the cost wasn’t too bad!
