I work at a place that used to sell the Boogie Board, another LCD writing tablet. Because I have an employee discount, I could buy one for a fairly reasonable price (for a Boogie Board, they were retailed around $40). I use it for a memo pad at my home computer desk. Fast forward a few years, I get a second job, where note taking is crucial. I can easily go through a stack of sticky notes. After a week, I start bringing my Boogie Board to work. After another week, I started looking for something to replace the Boogie Board. Enter THIS. So what are the differences? Well, I like this better. And it is WAY cheaper. Let's get into details. The boogie board stylus is attached to a clip you slide onto the board, which then lets you attach to the wall. This makes the Boogie Board a little clumsy to move around, because it's hard to slide the clip on and off all the time, making the stylus easy to lose. And if you keep the clip on, you aren't writing on a flat surface. On THIS pad, the stylus nests right into the board, making it easy to keep track of while creating a flat surface The Boogie Board does not have a locking function. THIS does. The quality of writing for both is the same. They respond to the same pressure, with the same visibility, and erase just as well, Though after a few years, my Boogie Board shows signs of scratches. There is only one way in which the Boogie Board is better. When writing on this tablet, there's the very slight feeling that I'm writing on a soft, top layer, and sometimes in my mind I'm expecting to see it wrinkle. Of course, it doesn't. [Review updated on 12/10/19; UPGRADED from 3 stars to 5 stars] I purchased 10 Black + 10 Blue of these tablet for classroom of 3-4 year olds. All of the concerns I had reported earlier - which were specific to the blue version - have been addressed with the newest version of the blue tablet. With the latest blue tablet: * They now have lock-protection switch * The writing on the blue model is as thick and easy to view, as the black version * In fact, I felt that color-shade of the writing on the blue tablet has slightly better visibility * The erase button worked flawlessly I want to give a huge shoutout to 'Aonuo' (seller) for improving the user experience and ensuring the product exceeds expectations. Terrible writing tablet. Writing is faint and it does not erase completely. In my picture the top “hello” is new writing and you can see faint chicken scratch all over that will not erase. It just keeps layering every time it’s used. I hope my picture shows it well enough. Don’t waste your money!

UPDATE: Lost the stylist already so just throwing this POC away - had been using it for grocery lists but it's just so crappy that it's not worth it. Very lightweight, super thin, I can imagine a kid breaking this within minutes of opening the box because it feels so flimsy. I purchased the blue version and when drawing or writing on it, it's so faint that you almost can't see what you've drawn or written. Very disappointing. My plan was to use it for notes like they show in their advertisements but you can barely see what you written. Don't waste your time or money - buy something else, another better brand. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought these tablets for my grandchildren for Christmas and they did like them and use them several times mine do not excessive use. However today, The pink one completely stopped working. We can draw on it but it will not erase. It’s bad to make a product that won’t last a year. Obviously I can’t return it as the return window is past. For this reason alone I would say pass on this product (unless they decide to replace it for me). If so, I will gladly change this to a 5- star rating because we liked it when it worked. :) ... show more

I predict these will only get more and more popular. It’s stumping me how they work! You can draw or write anything and with the push of the erase button it’s gone. It’s got to save so much paper!!!!! The battery says it lasts up to 20,000 erases and there’s a lock button in case you’re working on something you won’t want to erase! ... show more

Bought two of these and have time to the kids to share. They liked them so much that I just ordered another two. The price is really cheap and good value considering less paper water and no mess with markers. Kids like to use on car rides too.
