  • USB-C power will not pass through hub
Connected USB-C charger to keyboard, but no charging via keyboard cable. Mouse works fine via hub. Keyboard quality/layout/sound is good.

  • Handy because I needed a USB outlet!
New MacBooks don't have the "old" USB connection anymore, but I still needed one to use a couple of accessories. This keyboard is sturdy and well-designed, but most importantly includes the USB-C AND a USB-A port. Nice keyboard for my use.

  • Macally quality
Replacement for the iMac (Gen 1, yes, Gen 1) keyboard. My gen1 keyboard started to fail and needed a replacement and this served the purpose. I would have liked to have a full mechanical unit but most on the market did have the hub feature. It has a 60% footprint print and is a perfect match for all of my MACs. The Hub feature allows one USB-C to exchange a mouse, PIV card reader, and drive to be exchanged with one USB connection exchange. ... show more

  • Does the job
Not the best keyboard ever made, but small and light and portable and sturdy. I bought another after receiving it.

  • Really comfortable keyboard with one unfortunate design flaw (maybe 2?).
While I like the aesthetic of the very slim wireless keyboard that came with my iMac, I never really liked the flat feel beneath my fingers. As I typically leave it plugged in, I figured I would try this one out. When I've tried other more comfortable keyboards, they have been large or loud. I really love the feel of this keyboard. It's angled perfectly for my wrists and although it's small, I find it easy to work with--even with my very large hands. (I wear XL gloves to give you a sense). It was super simple to set up, just plug it in using a USB-C port or with the handy adapter for the larger USB ports. (It can probably also be detached and used elsewhere). I also really like that it functions as a hub as well. I feel like I can always use an extra port or two to charge something. The instructions are very clear and as they indicated the mac keyboard setup assistant popped up once it was plugged in. It didn't take long to be up and running. The problem isn't with its functionality or anything like that. It doesn't come with Touch ID built in. I've gotten really accustomed to the speed of signing in that way and using the fingerprint function for passwords and online credit card payments. I feel a bit indulgent admitting that this might be a deal breaker for me. I'll try using it a little longer to see how much I miss Touch ID. The only other thing that would have been cool is if they had a backlight ability so that you could see the keys in a dimly lit room. That might have compensated for the Touch ID being missing. ... show more

  • So Far So Good! A Bit More Accurate Than Stock Mac Keyboard - More Useful Than Bluetooth
If you've been using Mac standard keyboards for as long as I have, you understand the love / hate relationship many of us have with our fashionable, but sadly frustrating Mac keyboards. Mac keyboards look amazing, but the accuracy can be atrocious. This is mostly due to the ultra low profile keys that are designed more for form than function. With this Macally keyboard, however, many of those issues have been solved. For instance, on this one, each key has a slight "island" to it, giving your fingers a tactile sense of the center of the keys. You don't need the noisy "clack" of a mechanical keyboard to increase accuracy in typing, but you do need the finger islands to keep your key presses centered and under control. For most keyboards of this type, being rather low profile, with very short travel between key presses, there are going to be errant key presses and the occasional double input. The same is true here, but it is markedly better than the stock Mac keyboard. There is a satisfying amount of movement on the keys without them being annoyingly "clicky". You know when you've pressed it and you know when you haven't. That alone is a huge upgrade. The other thing I love about this keyboard is the size. I do a lot of art creation on my computer and I have it nestled alongside my large Cintiq tablet. With the stock keyboard, I always had to figure out a way to fit it in there with the humongous number pad alongside it. With this one, however, they've removed the number pad, leaving the important keys where they should be. Best of all, this keyboard has several features that the Mac ones do not. First, it's wired. That is FAR more handy than you realize over the long term. Secondly, it still has charger ports (which used to be standard on Mac keyboards). All in all, I'm very happy with this keyboard overall. It's not quite up to the same quality standard as a stock Mac keyboard, but it's VERY close and is SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive as well. If you're looking for an attractive, well built, and accurate keyboard, look no further! ... show more

  • Excellent Basic Mac Keyboard Hub
This unit is an upgrade from their previous design, which I have. Compact, with Mac friendly keyboard layout. Excellent build quality. My last unit is over two years old, and still has plenty of life left. It's getting replace with this unit because this one has USB connections. 2 USB-C, and 1 USB-A. The USB-A port gets dedicated to the wired mouse,. The two USB-C ports fully support data transfer, as well as power charging. Two ports allows me to connect my iPhone 15 and an external HD. No longer need to reach behind the MacMini. At this price point, wasn't expecting back-lighting. Hopefully an upgraded version with back lighting will be available in the future. ... show more
