  • Works out-of-the-box with my Line6 Helix
style: Pedal
I’ve been struggling with finding a good expression pedal for my Helix. Line 6 products don’t use a TRS connector, so the ring contact of a TRS plug will get grounded and, depending upon the pedal is wired, will cause really odd behaviors (like reading 100% when the pedal is near the middle, but 0% when _either_ toe or heel is all the way down) or just non-linear expressions (like the Helix reading 50% when the pedal is only 30% rocked forward and reading 75% when the pedal is at its midpoint). If you google a bit, you’ll find forums and diagrams describing how to resolder various expression pedals to make them work with the Helix. I didn’t want to do that to my nice Roland EV-5, so I looked for something cheaper. I tried the On-stage KEP100, first, but that has a 100K potentiometer, which is too much for the Helix. So, I ordered a couple of the M-Audios (because I read they had 10K pots, like the Helix likes) fully expecting to have to rewrite them with TS connectors to make them work with the Helix. To my surprise, they worked (almost) out of the box. The only thing I had to do was go into global settings in the Helix and set the pedal as “inverted” (so it read toe-down as 100% instead of heel-down as 100%). After that, it worked great. Helix reads 50% when the pedal Is rocked half-way, and I get a nice linear progression of values as I rock the pedal back and forth. ... show more

  • Great pedal for the price
style: Pedal
The M-Audio EX-P is well-built, and performs great with my BOSS Katana. My only issue with it is that the cable is hardwired into the unit. But if the cable ever goes bad, I supposed it would be about the same cost to replace the whole pedal as it would be to buy a new, quality cable. Having said that, when I start gigging again I will probably buy another M-Audio EX-P to have on hand as a back-up. ... show more

  • Worked exactly as expected.
style: Pedal
It's plastic, but fairly heavy plastic, so if used reasonably, it should last for years. No need to spend over $100 for a 'beefier' version. This does the trick.

  • Great value, few flaws
style: Pedal
Pros: Simple to use. I designed a midi controller for arduino and was easy to integrate into my project. Reliable for the most part (more on that later). Just requires quarter inch cable. I loke that there's a switch to change midi value type, as well adjustment knob. Cons: Construction is plastic(y). The resistance when moving the pedal is nonexistent, very light. The biggest problem is when the dial is rolled back to change resistance, and the pedal pitched all the way back, i can rarely get it to go to zero (think of a controller deadzone). This tells me the resistor used on the dial isn't very accurate as zero position hovers between 3 and 5 (in midi). It takes me pitching forward then back multiple times for it to zero. Otherwise it's fine for the money. I can modify my arduino code to make hitting zero easier but for people using this on professional equipment, i hope you can adjust that on device. ... show more

  • Works great
style: Pedal
This pedal is plastic but nicely built and not flimsy or delicate. I use it for my stomp boxes that can use expression pedals and on my keyboard. It works for all of my needs. It's versatile and can be use for many different applications. The volume/saturation knob on the side is a great feature to dial in the parameters of different needs. Recommended! ... show more
