  • Absolutely Amazing!
I can't believe these exist. Normally you would expect to pay somewhere around $500-$1000 for a high quality small diaphragm condenser mic with three separate capsules. But here is a pair of them for a hundred bucks. These microphones are made in China. I'm almost positive they are the exact same microphone as the ISK Little Gem, but rebranded. Normally, when you think of budget Chinese condenser mics, you would expect shrill piercing high frequencies, questionable QA, etc. I have ordered other small diaphragm condenser mics in the past and sent them back because they sounded like ice picks. This feels like the dawn of a new era. The sound of these microphones is competitive with what you would expect from the big name companies like AKG, Neumann, etc. Yes, if you listen really closely, you can hear miniscule differences. The AKG mics won't sound exactly like the Neumann mics either. The bottom line is, these mics sound GREAT, regardless of price. They reproduce the sound faithfully, and sound very natural. They take EQ extremely well. I bought two sets of these, thinking there would be a 50% chance I'd have to send them back. I'm definitely keeping them. Several of the reviews from 2016 mentioned that there were problems with the threading between the preamps and the capsules. My mics had no such problem. Other reviews from the same time period mentioned that the mics were sliding around in the case. The case I received was definitely not what I would call premium, but the mics and all accessories fit snugly and securely into place. Some of the older reviews said that the windscreens would fall off. The ones I received were snug as well. ... show more

  • Mini shotguns and condenser sticks and omnis that simply rule for the price!
I was skeptical at first when looking at these, but I'm really glad I took the leap with these. They saved my butt for a podcast session that was recorded while carpenters were working on the room directly above us, yet since we were using the hypercardioid capsules they cant be heard at all. We were in a near silent room, and the pattern was specific enough to get fantastic voice recordings while rejecting all the other room noise. I couldn't even hear my fridge, which I can typically hear on my podcasting mics (MXL 990s). The video where I used these during construction is my podcast with Jacob Boyer, which you can find on YouTube on my channel Full Coverage Media Group. Give a listen to these, and you'll be as surprised as I was at the quality to price ratio with these! ... show more

  • Absolutely excellent
I purchased these in order to make a high quality stereo recording of a piano for an EP I'm working on, and they rose to the occasion flawlessly. Immediately on seeing and feeling the case, these already felt like a high quality product, and that impression has only continued as I have worked with them. The solid, all-metal casings are clearly well manufactured and durable; the mics have a good, solid weight to them, feeling like a product of 2-3x the price. (I know I'm harping on the ~feel~ of these things quite a bit, but I feel that it really does show that these have a care and quality of manufacture that isn't necessarily always present or expected at this price point.) The swappable mic capsule system works exactly as advertised, allowing easy access to three different polar patterns within 30 seconds. The windscreens and mic clips feel like they will last quite a long time, which just shows the care and attention to detail put into every part of the equipment. The audio performance of the mics themselves is generally quite transparent, with no audible issues of any kind. Do be aware that the different mic capsules have different frequency performance characteristics; for me, this is not an obstacle, but rather an enhancement, a bit of tonality that I can use as part of my recording methods. All in all, an incredible piece of equipment that I would recommend highly even if they cost $300. As it is, these are, I think, one of the best deals on audio equipment around. ... show more

  • Amazing performance
I was guided by the other reviews to purchase this set. I agree - these are surprisingly good microphones and the equal of more expensive ones I considered. I am using mine as an X-Y pair mounted on a Gator Frameworks 1-to-2 mic mounting bar. They make great overhead mics for my drums when I am outdoors. I do not normally mic drums, but there are rare occasions when I need to do so. These are perfect. I also played around with close micing my snare drum for brush playing with one of the mics in the set and that worked out well too. However, I will probably never use either of the mics for that. This is one of the better deals for pencil condenser mics - if you are in the market for an inexpensive, but capable, set do give these serious consideration. ... show more

  • Excellent product from a great company
Lyxpro has been my new go to for lots of cables and when I saw the price on this set, I just had to try it. I don't know what I was expecting for the price of this set, but what I can tell you it exceeded my expectations in every way. Build quality of the mics is good, sound is pretty much untouchable at this price point (it's not a Neumann KM184, but for the price, you won't be disappointed), but for what I am using them for, they work great. I use these as back ups and also for crowd mics in live sound applications. One of the capsules arrived damaged in shipping, and the main USA distributor for LyxPro (Dbroth) was excellent about getting it taken care of. I am very happy with Lyxpro's products (especially their cables) and their USA distributors. ... show more
