I sleep very hot and overheat easily in general. Summer I keep my house at 68-69F at night and 71F during the day. I discovered bamboo sheets a few years back and have used nothing else since. It dawned on me to search for a bamboo blanket since I love soft and cool bamboo sheets so much and stumbled across this Luxome blanket. It's been recommended on several websites dedicated to articles on cooling blankets. I knew that if I didn't like it and wanted to return it that I'd have to pay a restocking fee so I took time to really sit with the potential splurge. I was also worried about shrinkage after washing. But, after weeks of a bit more research I finally decided to give this one a try. The difference between this and any other bamboo blanket I found is that luxome is bamboo fiber filled. I always stay away from polyester and down alternative stuff because it always made me sweat if I didn't have the A/C low enough. Well, turns out this was a great purchase. Not only did I not feel overheated, it was so incredibly soft and cozy feeling. It felt like I was wrapped in a cloud. I did wash before use as per the instructions, albeit I added small handful of fabric beads (I won't next time because it doesn't need it). I dried on extra low setting and I didn't notice much shrinkage. I bought the King size for my Queen size bed and there's enough draping on either side of the bed. It's a heavier blanket than what I'm used to sleeping with, but it's not hot, which is key. The weight of it is actually kind of comforting. This is not the weighted blanket, though I know Luxome has one. I tried the Rest blanket prior to this purchase and didn't love the material. It honestly felt like a nylon/polyester Halloween costume material to me - it felt very odd and I had to return it. This may not work well for ALL hot sleepers, but it worked well for me and on top of that it feels very luxurious. It's worth a try. *********UPDATE 1 YEAR LATER********* I have washed and dried this blanket many times in the past year and there is no change from my original review. It has held up and washed/dried well over time as I follow the care instructions on the label very closely. I even bought a second one for my guest room and my guests have been so impressed by it. A couple even asked me about it and ordered it for themselves on the spot. I do switch it out with something a bit warmer during NE winters, but this blanket is perfect for me in the summer. ... show more

Absolutely in love with this blanket. It is interesting how a blanket can be so light and also contour to your body at the same time. Super soft and silky. Beautifully made. If you sleep hot this is definitely for you. Definitely keep you warm in the winter but also not hot in the summer. I fully intend on buying one for my daughter. The only issue that I had on this order was the shipping. Absolutely Nothing to do with the seller. Ups Said delivery was made but I never received my original package. They were super prompt by filling a complaint with ups on my behalf. So helpful. Within a few days had my replacement. Since it is not a cheap blanket we decided to do a ups drop off point. It is very lightweight, but it keeps me warm, and another thing that I like about it is that it feels very much like satin, but it doesn't slide off when using it. I recently had the pleasure of trying out a new blanket that completely blew me away. The first thing I noticed was the amazing feel of the material. It was soft and cool to the touch, with a texture that almost seemed to slide off my skin. But to my surprise, it had a grip that kept it firmly in place. I couldn't get enough of the sensation of running my hands over the surface of the blanket. It had a truly unique feel that I'd never encountered before. Of course, with such an incredible texture and feel, I was expecting a hefty price tag. But I have to say, this product was worth every penny. if you want bamboo go all the way! why get bamboo sheets with a poly filled comforter, when you can have all bamboo? this is my favorite ever blanket! so soft and silky. it feels great. although may not be warm enough if you keep your house cold so then you can throw the poly filled bamboo blanket on top if you bought one. Sheen disappeared and the “boxes” all got clumpy. Washed in a brand new 5k washer/dryer set- washed on silk setting on cold. Then I dried it without any heat for an hour- then line dry in the house. I love this blanket after 10 years of forced menopause from breast cancer. I do love it so but it doesn’t stay shiny and beautiful as it does when it first arrives. That being said I will be ordering another because the weight is absolutely perfect and sleep for me is a joke. And under this I sleep so very well. Just disappointed deeply it changed so much in appearance, feel, softness, etc after 1 wash. I finally through it dryer on no heat with 6 wool dryer balls for 2 hours and it settled out- considering I only use organic products I still have no idea why the beautiful sheen and touch of it disappeared. But for me it’s worth the $. Just disappointing deeply it’s no longer shiny, soft anymore. ... show more
