We had an old 300w incandescent spotlight for our back yard, it had dusk till dawn and motion sensor, that worked for us for nearly 20 years but finally gave out so we needed a replacement, we found this gem and decided to give it a try. I had no issues swapping them out, make sure the breaker is off and the switch is off for good measure and you will need 3 wire nuts and a long bolt compatible with your box outside, the box outside will need to have the center threaded mount so you can screw it down - if it only has the corner screw holes, it's not compatible without some kind of mudring bracket to convert it.. once the wires are secured, green to ground, white to white and black to black, gently push the wire back into the power box and align the light so the lights are on top and the sensor is on the bottom, screw it down good and tight, also making sure you had the sealing pad that comes with the light and you're good to go. I find it helpful to always use some electrical tape to secure the wire nuts too, this makes sure they don't come unscrewed during installation or afterwards - wrap the tape in the same direction you screw down the wire nuts, righty-tighty. The lights are bright, you can aim the center one any angle up and down.. the right and left lights can be angled independently up and down as well as to and fro the main center light. The sensor also needs to be tilted down so the sensor dome is flat downwards, this angles a 4th and much dimmer light a little downwards and lights up the porch when the other lights are off. Very cool feature that I personally hadn't seen before. The sensor has several settings, I believe H is high sensitivity, M is medium sensitivity and L is low sensitivity and the timer has TEST as well as 1, 3 and 10 minute times.. There is also a separate rubber covered button for turning the auxiliary light feature on and off.. Unit is sturdy and should last for several years, till the leds burn out probably and the entire unit will need to be replaced. That is truly my only gripe but such is the way of things these days, they can't make stuff so you can just replace the bulbs, but rather fill up our landfills with entire units (fans with permanent led lights, spotlgihts suchs as these, you name it) That being said, this is a great outdoor light, currently decent priced and well recommended. ... show more
