Description

Like all Luigi Bormioli collections, Atelier embodies Italy's gusto for the good things of the earth: our wines and foods that are uniquely Italian, but loved the world over. Atelier stemware is machine blown in Parma Italy and made in Luigi Bormioli's proprietary SON.hyx material. SON.hyx produced glassware is an exciting fusion of elegance and technology. In addition to having ideal bowl shapes, fine rims and beautifully drawn stems, glassware made in SON.hyx is extremely brilliant in color, has a beautiful sound, maintains its clarity after thousands of industrial dishwashing cycles and possesses an extremely high level of durability. The stems are also reinforced with titanium.

I wanted some new wine glasses that I could use as everyday glasses primarily for red wine. I have purchased Luigi Bormioli glasses before and enjoyed them alot. These are exactly what I was looking for. I love the shape and they are a great size for a good swirl without worrying about the wine splashing out and over the top. I know that stemless glassware is popular but I still prefer stems. When you hold a stemless glass the heat from your hand warms up the wine......not always a desired result. For me, holding a stem is more comfortable than holding a stemless glass. These glasses are not crystal but they have a nice feel and look and I have already enjoyed using them a great deal. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for the same features as I did. I will buy them again.....they are a bargain and should last for quite a while. ... show more

I am definitely an avid red wine collector and I actually learned about this brand in this particular glass at a restaurant while having dinner in Oakland. I was so impressed with the white and the size of the glass I had to ask the waiter what brand it was and he was kind enough to give me this specific link to Amazon. When I originally put it in my cart these glasses were almost $80 and amazing just a couple of days ago it was marked down to $46 for six glasses which is an absolute steal! Check out a video comparison that I did in the same link when it looks like two glasses are the same but they are very different in comparison. Every time we have guests over they always comment on these wine glasses and how much they love them! They are very high quality and I love how you can swirl the wine and not have it spill out. They are very visually appealing, I really love them as do my guests. I use these wine glasses almost every day, I love how they are dishwasher safe and lead free. They are very sturdy and I've washed them countless times in the dishwasher and never have had any break! Would highly recommend to all. ... show more

    • Beautiful Italian crystal wine glasses
These are beautiful, delicate and large. My 3 star rating was due to inefficient packaging. They arrived box within shipping box with NO bubble wrap or padding of any kind. Just the box! Needless to say, it rattled with broken glass upon arrival. So disappointing.

bought a 4 pack of these and then after using bought another 8. Ever been to a party and drank a nice cab out of a wine glass better suited for Hobbiton??? These glasses have a nice sized bowl, break resistant, and well priced. After guests breaking several Reidel's my wife said no more. So I found these. My wife and I can now use the large Reidel's for ourselves and break these babies out for guests and everyone appreciates and comments about how nice they are. ... show more

    • Too delicate?
I stumbled across these glasses and love them, however they do seem a bit on the delicate side. I had one break in shipping and Amazon replaced it but I just had another break inside the dishwasher. It was a light load so there was hardly anything in the bottom rack but when I pulled the glass out two big pieces of the glass were in the bottom of my dishwasher like the glass broke from the heat. Normally my wife handwashes these but she's off on business this week and I had a stroke so I have very limited use of my left hand making hard to wash glasses, I've broken three in the past so I no longer try, unless they're plastic! haha Anyway, even though they say dishwasher safe I would just handwash them to guarantee a long life (unless you're clumsy like me). However, I still love the size and feel of them. You will not be disappointed with them. ... show more

I love these glasses and we get tons of compliments. We have had them for several years and have only broken one, operator error. They will not survive a drop on granite counters or hardwood floors. I typically hand wash them but they have done fine in the dishwasher the few times we have tried that. We have a few other glasses by the same maker and have had similar experiences. Check heights, however, to make sure they will fit in your cabinets. These are fairly tall. ... show more
