This product definitely has its benefits but I was sad to find out that the adhesive does not work as well as I'd hope! 3 weeks later and one of them went down. It was a pain for me to reach up to the top of my window to stick on, so I haven't had a chance to stick it back yet. The cutting to size was a bit annoying also but I know that can't really be helped. When it did work, it worked really well. Did not let in any light. After my initial review, customer service from the company messaged me and worked with me to find the best solution to my problem. They were friendly and efficient and was able to help to the best of their ability. Pros: 🌸Keeps heat out in the summer 🌸keeps cold out in the fall and winter 🌸Blocks out literally all light...but..... Cons: 🌸Adhesion is horrible. Like ofc it is..it's Velcro. ~~~~~~~ I bought these maybe the first week of August (2023) because I just moved into my apartment. I need total darkness in order to sleep...that's literally my main priority. I don't like having lights on, I don't like having lights in general unless it's an emergency. I'd very much rather use candles as a way to light things. It's mostly because I have a sensitivity to light. Call me a vampire if you must, I'll take the title. They give you Velcro to stick it to whatever your surface is, no biggy. The Velcro has lasted and it's almost December. The problem is if it's your first time ever putting something like this up, you're prolly going to have some problems. I had a friend help me put them up and that helped tremendously. Because it's my first time having anything like this, I didn't know how to space the Velcro out. The Velcro circles dont always stick the my window sil or window border which can let light in. The media could not be loaded. I like that it blocks out the sun and heat. The only problem is that it should be coming on a roll instead of a fold it has Velcro to adhere to the surface and the fabric and that works well for the money. I think it’s great. It does the job, it’s easy to install. The only issue is that they folded it and when you try to cut on the fold to the right size, it doesn’t work as well as he would like so if they could roll it and put it in a tube that would be better they give you a nice little bag , so you can take it in your car and transport it I think I haven’t tried in the car but I think it will work great better than any type of car shade for babies, so I’m happy with it.     • Great for blackout, not so great at heat reduction

It's been over 100 where I live and my A/C isn't able to keep up so I ordered these. They were not too difficult to cut and install considering I did it myself. It would be easier if the fabric had a grid printed on it. Would be MUCH easier at keeping cuts straight and not losing precious fabric. The velcro is easy to work with, but when it's as hot as it is here, it doesn't stick very well so I have one with a corner that keeps falling off. I anticipate the others will follow suit. I had one wrong cut or I probably would have been able to cover all 4 of my 3'x4.75' windows and still leave a couple scraps to use together to cover a much smaller window in my door to the backyard. It took me about an hour to cover all of them, but again, I was doing them myself. All that said, I don't really recommend for trying to reduce heat in the house. If you are looking for black out only, then they are great. The black fabric is not reflective at all so the heat just gets absorbed, still letting it into the house. If I can't find something different to get me through the rest of the summer, I'm going to have to resort to good ol' tin foil in the windows to reflect the sun, not just black out the room. ... show more

    • Adhesive pads only stick for a limited time... then they fall off.

The material is fine; however, it may emit some VOCs. The big problem I have with this product is that the adhesive pads only stick for a little while. For instance, I affixed the adhesive pads to the wood window frame, and they started falling off within 48 hours. Then I affixed them directly to the glass window, and after about a month, they are falling off the glass surface as well. to try to fix the issue, I punched a couple holes in the top corners and tied the blackout material to the top of the blinds. Not a perfect solution because light leaks in a lot around all the edges, but I see no other way to may it work given the lack of adhesion with the supplied materials. I'm seeing a theme here: Amazon selling Chinese junk with unwarranted 4 and 5 star reviews. Way overpriced considering the product failure. The same thing could be achieved for a few cents by tying one or two black garbage bags to the top of the frame/blinds. Why are we so quick to purchase "solutions" to our problems on Amazon for $20? So! I saw other people’s reviews on how great it was for blacking out a room. I’m tired of buying “100% black out curtains” and it just looks dim in my room. Husband words night shift, so I thought this would be good. Now I’ve heard the stickies are unreliable, so I have ordered others to come in and replace them when it’s time. But my room went from looking like it was shady afternoon to instantly black when it was all put up. I am thoroughly impressed by how amazing this is. I can see barely anymore daylight- operator issue right now- and now that it’s late at night I can’t even see the streetlights. I would highly highly highly recommend this to anyone needing to black out a room. ... show more
