As many people know, there's no control over Extra Virgin Olive Oil from any regulating agencies. Often, olive oils are cut with cheaper or less healthy oils. Thankfully consumer lab did an independent analysis of several EVO oils and this was pure olive oil and had the highest polyphenol content of any tested (CA Olive Ranch was runner up, also pure, good flavor and cheaper). The Lucini has a stronger bite, peppery and more complex, so I like to use that for dipping (with sea salt, garlic and ground pepper, yum). I use it for drizzling and flavoring and use the CA Olive Ranch for everyday cooking. I actually prefer this Lucini Everyday EVOO to the premium one in taste. Note that the higher polyphenol content not only makes it healthier but also means that it is less likely to break down at higher temperatures. Olive oil doesn't have a high smoke point, but this one has higher than most. So I use this one for roasting vegetables or meat at over 400°. I just rec'd this today (after paying $17.63 on Amazon Prime) and now it's about $5 less only days later, that stings. This is a lot of EVOO for the money, even at the higher price I paid, but at this price, better still. But this EVOO does not sting. It is very tasty and smooth. I compared the taste to an EVOO I had already and I could taste the difference. ' My only 'complaint' is that there is no 'best use by' date. I have other olive oils that do put that date on the cap or bottle itself...to me this is important, bc unlike fine wine, olive oil does not get better with age. Just sayin'. If you use up your olive oil quickly and have no concern this bottle, as big as it is, will sit too long before being used up, this is a great price to grab it at; wish I had! ... show more

Lucini is one of a few medium priced EVOO's that limit the acidity level to 0.05%, which is the mark of a high quality EVOO in Italy. Having experienced taste testing of high quality EVOO in Italy, this is excellent quality. I use it for everyday cooking as well as for salad dressing and tossed with pasta.
