Bought to fix a very small annoyance. I would set cabin fan to full with AC on and it would slow down when the truck was idle but speed back up when driving. Alternator wasn't keeping up with demand at idle and I have seen many vehicles do the same. This new one puts out a little more than stock for my truck and is still a good price.
