Description

LUBEGARD GEAR FLUID SUPPLEMENT is designed for use in all manual transmissions, transaxles and final drives that require gear oil. LUBEGARD contains LXE, (liquid wax esters) and their derivatives, a blend of high grade petroleum oil, synthetic base oils and a complete anti-wear formula. LUBEGARD is designed to provide high temperature stability to prevent harmful deposits on synchros and gears. BENEFITS: Reduces drive train power loss, Lowers temperature and extends fluid life, Improves heat transfer from the fluid to the case wall and out the gear box, Improves all cold weather stiffness, Improves all manual & synchromesh transmission shifting characteristics, Reduces tooth drag and absorbs shock loads, thus improves the life of all gear units, Lowers friction on bearings and gears with high wiping stresses, especially hypoid gears, Minimizes oxidation and varnish deposits, Suppresses lubricant foaming, Safe for new MTF Fluids, Increases power transfer, reduces energy consumption and Decreases equipment operating and maintenance costs. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Add 3 fluid oz. to each quart of gear fluid.

Another update May 2023: I've since used this in so many different vehicles not just by own but families and friends. It has helped on a couple of occasions quiet down a noisy diff, not completely but definitely quieter. And no chattering or noises from any of the Ford differentials I've put it in. Over several years of testing I can honestly say great product! Not sure if I would use it in a highly sensitive manual transmission though as it does reduce friction quite a bit which is a great thing but sometimes not so much in a manual transmission :) Update October 2018: The benefits i had noticed continued in the F250 while i had it (no longer have it) and also used it in a new application: a 2016 Ram 1500. I chose to use Redline 75w140 and this product as directed. The axle performed as i expected; very quiet. There is also LG in the motor and this truck runs beautifully. Average mpg over 24,000 miles is 19.9 combined. Not bad for a Hemi! I've used this product in my Ford F-250 in two different applications; the 4spd manual transmission and the rear axle. Using this product mixed with 80w90 in the manual trans made a considerable difference in shift quality, especially when cold. I also added a bottle in the Dana 70 rear axle w/ limited slip. Used Valvoline 75w140(contains friction modifier) and one bottle of Gear supplment. No problems after 500 miles and the axle is whisper quiet, no chattering. Lubegard isn't the sole reason the axle is quiet, but in my opinion a contributor. The LXE technology Lubegard uses has an amazing effect on reducing friction.     • Amazing additive for petroleum based gear oils

This product improves petroleum based gear oils giving them performance similar to synthetic variants. I love Lubegards products and have used many throughout the years. My only advice is to buy this at NAPA because it’s $9.99 there not $19 + which is a total rip off!

    • Lube Guard is an old company with a very good reputation
I purchased this on Lube Guards reputation; I have used the automatic transmission additives for many years from LG - and with very good results; so, I am running a trial on this; the results in a manual gearbox (Miata) with many miles on each (I have two Miatas) are subjective to some degree - but I am running this additive primarily as a protectant and not expecting observable behaviour such as shifting; I have LG in the differentials now too, so again, just looking to protect and prolong the life of the unit; the technology that LG claims is called LXE.     • Well it was worst than with the old oil

This "snake oil" as most would call it, helped me when it was added to a 6 years old 75w90 subaru manual transmission oil. After a month I poured some not very popular or expensive gear oil- 75w90 fully synthetic by the Belgian company "Wolfoil". Well it was worst than with the old oil, so I remembered Lubegard yellow bottle helped me once and purchased again. As expected even with only one bottle(recommended is two bottles for 4-5lt. of oil) and after just 2-4 km. of driving and often shifting, the gears were shiftables as never before just like a new car.     • Worked great for five speed manual transmission

After draining and refilling my five speed manual transmission twice with Lucas 80w-90 over a three week period, the transmission was still a little rough and did not slip into gear as it should have. After adding lubegard gear fluid supplement and driving around for thirty minutes or so, the transmission felt like someone had just rebuilt it, amazing! ... show more

    • very happy as it can be costly to do diff crown ...

i added it to my diff on my old mercedes 190 e it quietend down my diff whine substantially , very happy as it can be costly to do diff crown wheel- pinion gear contact alignment which would include carrier bearings pinion bearing and collapsable spacer

    • Made my Sentra shift worse - too slippery for proper synchro functioning?

This product immediately made the manual transmission in my Nissan Sentra shift much worse. I can barely get it into first gear when standing still. My feeling is that the increased lubricity makes the synchro's less able to grab and equalize the shaft speeds. I really like Lubegard products for automatic transmissions, and this stuff is probably great for rear-ends, but it was not helpful for my application. ... show more

    • Works great in my NV5600

I've used this in every fluid change in my 2001 Ram diesel 6 speed NV5600 manual trans. Makes the shifts butter smooth. Remember - always match the engine speed to the drive line speed on down shifts by "blipping" the throttle. Makes for easy as pie down shifts every time.
