The bottle says you can leave this on your hair for 5-15 mins OR up to 30 mins for damaged hair. I put this on clean, wet hair and leave it on for 30 mins. You do not need heat, but I've found it to be helpful. I put a shower cap over the deep conditioner and then a heated gel cap on top of that. My hair looked amazing once I rinsed out the product. I first tried the shampoo and the regular conditioner, was running low on conditioner so I splurged for this. This is by far the best curly/wavy product I've used. I feel like my hair absorbs this, and I have soft shiny curls and waves for a week. It really does make a difference to use the entire line. I haven't tried the gel yet, still using my old gel, but as soon as that runs out, I'll be switching to the LUS Gel. When I think of deep conditioning my hair, when it’s done it’s soft and manageable. It’s not the case with this one. The regular conditioner is great. Maybe it’s just not right for my hair. But I would not purchase this again and stick to the regular LUS conditioner.
