Love Letter is a gem of a card game that has quickly become a favorite in our household. A few of the positives: 1. Quick and Easy to Learn: The rules are simple and straightforward, making it easy for new players to jump in and start having fun right away. Despite its simplicity, the game offers a surprising amount of depth and strategy, which keeps it engaging. 2. Fast-Paced Gameplay: Each round is quick, usually lasting around 15 minutes, making it perfect for short bursts of fun or for playing multiple rounds in a row. The fast pace keeps everyone involved and excited, with minimal downtime between turns. 3. Strategic Depth: While the game is easy to learn, mastering it requires strategic thinking and careful consideration of each move. You need to outwit your opponents, anticipate their moves, and adapt your strategy based on the cards in play. This balance of luck and strategy makes every game unique and replayable. 4. Compact and Portable: Love Letter comes in a small, portable pouch, making it perfect for travel or game nights on the go. It’s an ideal game to bring to gatherings, vacations, or just to have handy for spontaneous play sessions. 5. Beautifully Designed: The artwork and card quality are top-notch. • Seemingly simple but lots of fun
We love this card game! Originally played it at a friend’s place, and afterwards we had to get one for ourselves. It’s most fun with 4 or more people. I love that it’s portable, so you can easily bring it with you, compared to larger board games, and it doesn’t take up much space so you could play it without needing a big table or surface area. The rules are deceptively simple. You have one card in your hand, and on your turn, you draw one card and choose to play one card. The person with the largest card at the end of the game wins. However, you’re also trying to guess what other people have, and get them “out” of the game. Plus, there’s “actions” with other cards that add new rules. It’s pretty fast paced, so you can play a few rounds easily. Well worth the money! ... show more

  • Easy to learn and quick game
My native language is spanish so I was worried that my colleagues were not going to understand the game because the instructions were in english, but after two rounds they just memorize each card efffect. As a fast game is nice to start a party night

  • Great game for making deductions and decisions and determinations
LOVE LETTER game Actually I kid you not, we just finished playing a couple rounds of Love Letter on a Friday night. I played with my 16 year old 12 year old and 7 year old and they all play really well. Our 16 year old got one token and I got one also. We had a really interesting round just now where our 7 year old had the Countess valued at 8 and then put the Chancellor down which allows him to take 2 cards from the top and put 2 back to the bottom of the pile. Well, he drew a Guard valued at 1 and the Princess valued at 9 and that is the best card especially so late in the game. He secretly took that card and discarded the other 2. Since he had just beaten our 16 year old who had to discard a King valued at 7, we had an idea which one he might have. My daughter knew it and told me to use my Guard to guess which one our 7 year old had. She suggested he must have the Countess, but though it was possible and I agreed with her, I decided to guess the Princess knowing it was probably wrong. He was shocked and he was out because his old dad guessed the card he had. We didn't really know but you can determine who has what card based on the cards played. Anyway that was a little picture into our Friday night as the Red Sox were almost losing in 10 innings to the Detroit Tigers, but while playing LOVE LETTER the Red Sox pulled it off. Some games are short, some longer. But usually you can play a nice chunk of games and distribute the tokens to the winners. Sometimes luck helps. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you are out before you know what hit you!? ... show more

  • Quick to learn!
We took this game with us on vacation and played it multiple times. It was easy to learn right out of the box, or bag in this case. The bag made it super easy to carry around with me in my small purse, so we could play whenever we wanted. The other plus side was how quick the game went. It is very short, but you play several rounds in a game. We played multiple games a night and everyone stayed engaged and entertained! ... show more

  • Such a fun game
I have played this game with my daughters since they were pretty young. It is really easy to learn and fun to play. Works with 2 well though I like 3 players best.
