What I like about this swim cap is that it accommodates my long hair-- I used it in the shower a few times to protect my hair that was already styled, and it worked like a charm. The only thing is, it does smoosh the hair directly close to your face, so depending on the style you hoped to keep and your hair type, it may not work for you if you're using it as a shower cap. I have not tried swimming laps with it on, but I imagine, it could be a bit cumbersome to have hair flopping around from side to side as I swim and move my head from side to side. I wore it in the pool for aqua aerobics, which seems its most appropriate use. It takes a while to get used to putting it on and taking it off (without getting wet). It is waterproof. ... show more

I really liked this swim cap, I bought it for a trip we went on so I could swim without my hair getting ruined by chlorine. There were alot of people splashing so I'm glad I got it. I have very long thick curly hair so it was really important that it didnt get wet and it didnt! My dad even pulled me under the water at one point and I quickly pulled off the swim cap to see if my hair was wet and it wasn't!!! The only thing that bothered me was. When I wore the swim cap it kinda ruined my curl pattern and made it look frizzy. But I ended up washing my hair and fixing it and putting a shower cap on before putting on the swim cap back on. I highly recommend putting a shower cap on before the swim cap because it kinda pulls on your hair a little and I found that when I put a shower cap on under it my curl pattern was perfect and didnt get ruined. ... show more

Not so comfortable but can keep water out if you’re not fully immersed in water. If you wanna swim inside the water, your hair could get wet! I love the big size though, for long hair and braids.

I got to try it for the first time on Saturday In our pool, after putting up my hair , I put on the Lahtak® Extra Large Swim Cap and gualla it was a wonderful fit and all my hair was inside the cap, it was snug around the head and my hair did not get wet while swimming and wadding in the pool, I almost did not relies it was on, it's that comfortable while wearing it. I have a big head so I got the big size and I can hear all the water bubbles coming in in the pool from under the cap. I asked the Lifeguard what I should do she said perhaps try different cap or smaller cap. I saw something or lie they said perhaps use two caps if you could tolerate it I was disappointed because I heard good things about this cap if it's snugly. I was able to put it really easily it felt like it was snug up against my head not tight. Maybe it should be tight? ... show more

I purchased two of these swim caps (in pink), one for my daughter and one for myself, for a breast cancer awareness mud run and a trip to a water park a week later. We both have a lot of hair and other caps never stay on. I'm very pleased that we left the mud run with absolutely no mud in our hair. The caps also survived the water park leaving my hair completely dry...and only slightly wet around the edges for my daughter who was completely submerged under the water several times.
