I am a big fan of this soldering iron! The bottom compartment and donut-shaped sponge were tossed almost immediately and replaced with the Edsyn dry tip cleaner (it looks like a ball of brass wool in a dish), and it has served me well. The looks are a little juvenile, I could do without so much blue LED lighting, but the iron heats up quickly and has a small footprint. I do not have calibration tools to measure tip temperature, but I like the fact that the temperature calibration is adjustable if it starts drifting later on. Far, far better and more reliable that the other high-end irons that I've used over the used. And the tips are really reasonable in price, too. I've only had it for a couple of months, but even it fails I'd get another. Yes, it's that much better than the others -- other is some cases costing three times the price of the Edsyn. ... show more
