  • Very rough file
It does what it says but not well enough for me. The file is not a fine file and it's too wide. It's a rough file and it would work best for a neck that's not attached to the guitar. This wants to scratch the body of your guitar when you work your higher frets and you have to be extremely careful because one slip will destroy the finish on your guitar, even if it's taped up. I cannot stress this enough, the file is that rough and much too wide. I might swap out the file for a fine or extra fine one and cut a deeper channel on the wooden block to set the file in another 1/4"-1/2". ... show more

If I had just started to use I would have caused damaged to the guitar I was going to use it on. After removing and grinding the ends of the file I was able to use, but disappointed that I had to go to this much trouble to make it usable. ... show more
