Returning because of leaking. First issue was annoying but not a big deal. Issue 1) According to the instructions the dry iron symbol will flash during preheating. This never happened with my iron. Issue 2) Water inlet cover raises during steaming which causes leaking with steaming in upright position. ... show more

Like another reviewer, I avoid ironing at all costs, and try to steam whenever possible. I decided to try this product based on it being called a "steamer" more than an iron. I did not try this product as an iron. You can see the size of this product compared to a full-sized iron and a full-sized handheld steamer, without the handle rotated out. It's not exactly tiny, but it is least more compact. The full-sized steamer weight 2lb 3oz compared to the 1lb7oz of this product. The steamer heated up quickly, produced some good fogs of steam, even on the low setting. Unfortunately because the reservoir is in the steamer head, based on how you move/manipulate the steamer, steam flow was affected and stopped/started a little bit. It probably steamed about as well as my larger steamer, but as you can see, it didn't completely smooth out a cotton t-shirt. I was unable to get the "empty reservoir" indicator to go off--don't know if mine just wasn't working. The protective glove was NOT steam-proof, so beware of using that behind the fabric to help smooth as you steam. My biggest gripe with this steamer is the length of the cord: 6 ft seems like a lot, but I hang my steaming items on the shower rod and the plug is about 5 feet away. My other iron/steamer have 8ft cords. Not a lot of room to maneuver with only a foot to spare. ... show more

I recently traveled with some new slacks I purchased the other day and the slacks unexpectedly wrinkled pretty badly during the travel (you can't trust polyester these days to stay unwrinkled). The hotel irons were pretty lame at steaming and were dirty to-boot, so I thought I'd look into getting a travel steamer for these kinds of situations. This item popped up in my search so I gave it a try. The main key to this one was that it was labeled as "travel" and as a "steamer." It actually works well as an iron, too - so that's a bonus. Bottom line is that as a steamer, this is really quite good. There are three different steam levels and the device has a motor that pushes the steam out, so it doesn't just float out of the steam holes. It heats as quickly as it advertises and in my initial tests, did a great job of steaming. The device can also be used as an iron, but since there isn't an adjustment to the iron temperature, and there is no information in the instructions as to the heat level, I'd be a bit careful with it - only use it on 100% cotton or higher fabrics. I tried it on cotton and it worked very well. I'd never try it on polyester since I suspect it would just melt it. It comes with a bag and even a cute heat mitt (that appeared to be made for a child). Now, the "travel" part. I tend to pack extremely lightly. Even week-long trips, I'll only have a single rather small carry-on during my travel. This device is the size of a compacted rolled pair of pants AND a rolled dress shirt, so it takes up quite a bit of space. I can see myself carrying it along on short trips of 1-2 days, but anything longer and I'll have to leave it behind since there wouldn't be a way to include it based on the way I pack and the size of my bags (small). For those who regularly travel with multiple bags, this is probably a great travel size device. It IS smaller than the smallest standard iron I have, so it is certainly a compact device...but not as compact as I would have hoped. ... show more

Even if I want to iron with it, I just put down a thick folded towel on the counter and iron my garment that way. But mostly this is used as a steamer and it gets my cloths wrinkle free. It's small and easy to take on trips, too, but it's helping me out at home, in a big way. ... show more
