    • Excellent Motor Oil - Be aware this is an LL-04 Certified oil. Not LL-01

Extremely pleased with the quality of this oil. I live in the United States, and am aware that the quality of the fuel here is relatively poor compared to that in Germany or really any other 1st world country. As a result, strict OCIs (oil change intervals) should be observed with this oil, as it is not designed with our high sulfur content/high ethanol content in mind. I spoke to a representative at Liqui Moly about this concern, specifically, and he told me it would be reasonable, but not necessary to switch to the Leichtlauf Special 5W-30, which carries a certification that is more applicable to North American applications. The issue arises with regards to our fuel's interaction with the motor oil, and therefore, premature oil degradation. However, we are talking about an oil that is designed for up to 18,600 miles of normal use. As such, a more conservative OCI of 5-10,000 miles would/should be perfectly reasonable for use with this particular oil, even in North American markets. If this is a concern for you, switch to the Leichtlauf Special version of this oil, which is BMW LL-01 certified, and more appropriate for use with American gasoline/petrol/benzine. I am writing this review specifically in response to a rather misleading review by another Amazon customer. I responded specifically to his review in one of the comments, but here is what I wrote, should you wish to understand my issue with his review: "Let's talk about this a little bit. Longtime High Tech, or Liqui Moly 2039 is indeed a BMW LL- 04 certified oil, and yes, this type of oil is primarily designed for use in European markets where the quality of fuel is much higher than it is in the United States. BMW even goes so far as to warn against use of this oil in North American applications. But we're talking about a company (BMW) which encourages people to change their oil ever 15,000 miles. If you are using an extremely high grade oil like this one, with a high quality European fuel, that might be somewhat reasonable. In the United States, however, true german-grade synthetics are largely unavailable for one thing, and for another, the quality of our fuel is relatively poor (even by second-world standards). As a result, very few oils would be able to prevent degradation for such a long OCI (oil change interval). In summary, while this oil is perhaps not ideal for long term applications in the United States (what oil is?), I would consider it safe to use for 5 - 10K mile OCIs. If you are concerned about this, or are adamant that you must have a BMW certified oil in your car, use the 5W-30 Leichtlauf, but don't tarnish the name of a superbly engineered oil/company like Liqui Moly. Your ignorance is misleading and is part of the issue with car maintenance in the United States. Labeling LM 2039 a "weak motor oil" is untrue, likely quite biased, and generally ignorant." ... show more

I have a 08 Volkswagen GTI with the 2.0T FSI motor with 93k miles. First of all... I have always used Mobil 1 5w30 in all my vehicles. Mobil 1 is a great oil... but this Liqui Moly is out of this world. After oil change. Significant difference on how the car idles and how the car sounds. The FSI is notorious for sounding like a diesel due to the way that ticks. 10/10 will use this old for the remaining of my GTIs life. ... show more

    • The Best For My BMW X5 E53

This has been the best oil that I've ever used, I've tried them all, mobile 1, royal purple, and other and nothing has felt this good. The engine is quite, less shaking in the engine, the car runs smoother. It costs more than most other oils but it's worth it for high mileage cars and if you love and are one with your bmw then you are going to want the best. When I went from castrol which is the recommended oil to mobile 1 a notice a slight difference. When I went from mobile 1 to royal purple I noticed a major difference but had a lot of oil burning with royal purple. Then I went to this and will never go back... It's worth it trust me ... show more

I liked the container the Hidden pourspout was very convenient, not sure how this is going to hold up in my 2011 VWGTI. It has a tendency to burn oil quicker and the service interval is shortened due to this. I will update this review in 5000 miles to see how the oil preforms over time.

We can only buy one kind of oil for our Jeep Grand Cherokee that has a Mercedes Diesel engine. We usually have to order locally but found amazon gets it and we save $30-$40 ordering here in a 4 pack case! I get two oil changes for the cost of one locally now! So happy. This oil has always improved the drive quality with this Jeep and we are going into our 10th yr of owning it. It drives great and is always easy on my husband to use ... show more

Best engine oil money can buy. Burns less. Lasts longer. And best thing about it, liqui molly prevents carbon build up on intake valves especially on direct injected engines. Put this in my car last year about 25k miles ago, with a Mobile 1 long life oil filter. The engine immediately felt smoother and quieter than with the Mobile 1 oil it replaced. It's so worth spending a bit more when it lasts such a long time! This time I'm going to try their new 4200, which may last even longer! ... show more
