Edited Review: I think Amazon makes it really hard to contact your merchant to discuss troubleshooting issues. Fortunately, the merchant/seller was able to offer me a full refund or send a new one. I opted for a new one because I really did like it when I initially had it. Hopefully, it won't have the same issue again 6 months later. I will update if that's the case. The merchant also showed me some steps, but it still didn't work on the old one. However, on the newer one it did work. It was working GREAT and worked with my KVM switch so it made it easy for me to switch between my work laptop and my personal desktop. I used the docking station for my work laptop since I require more USB ports. It stopped working all of a suddenly today. I know: It's not my KVM switch because the dual monitors work fine when I switch to my personal desktop. It's not the HDMI cables because when I plug each one individually into my work laptop, they still appear as an extended monitor. It's not my work laptop because it turns on and can recognize the other USB devices in the dock station. For some reason, it's ONLY the HDMI ports. Everything else like the USBs work just fine and my work laptop can recognize those. However, the HDMI ports are broken. So beware! I tried finding tech support, but it's no longer available since I am past the return window. That's what I get for being cheap. I guess I should find the original OEM dock stations for my work laptop now. I really liked the quality of the material if it did work. It's not some flimsy plastic although it could be a mix of metal and plastic. It keeps cool. ... show more

I have a strong background with PCs and networking equipment. Regardless, every piece of equipment has its own idiosyncrasies and therefore, the documentation is vital. Frankly, the flimsy 2x3" multi-fold paper manual is barely useful. I have a multi monitor setup using Display Port and HDMI. The HDMI side came up promptly and after 20 minutes of troubleshooting, I got it all to work, no thanks to the document. Not working as expected. I will not charge my phone of wireless keyboard and touch pad. the devices will bounce connections between charging and not. I attempted to use all the usb ports and they do the same thing. If I unplug the device, all works as expected directly from the computer ports. Update 12/19/24 - turns out the unit will not work with the usb extension cable that I had on my Mac. When directly connected to the Mac, it works as designed. I wanted it on my desktop for ease of use, but that's not possible. I re-routed my cable to the unit. ... show more

See Updates below. At first, this solved my problem of not having enough USB ports on my laptop. I have two external hard drives, a printer, mouse, and keyboard, plus I plug in chargers and other devices part of the time. I have a Go Pro camera, and always take the SD card out and plug it in to the computer to download video. It is many times faster than plugging the camera in. This is where the Hub failed me..... It has an SD card reader, and a micro SD card reader, which I really liked..... Until they both quit working. The USB ports still work, but if I plug a card in the card reader, the little light in the Hub comes on, but it does not show up on the computer. I am hoping I can get this issue resolved with the seller. Updates later. Update: I just noticed that on the product page description in now says "Please note: this USB Hub does not support Video output. I don't think that was on there when I bought it, but I could be mistaken. Funny thing is, it DID work to transfer video from the card to the computer files when I first got it. Then it stopped doing it after about 4 months of use. I just tried a card with non-video files, and it still does not work. I am trying to get in touch with the seller to see if this can be resolved. Update 5-23-22: The company responded via email. They said it should work with video files. After several back-and-forth emails asking me to try re-formatting my SD card, etc, they finally agreed to send me a replacement. It arrived in a few days. The replacement fails to show an SD card in either slot, just like the old one after it failed. This one did not work right out of the box. Obviously this is an issue with this USB Hub. I am changing my rating to one star. Update May 31st, 2022: After getting frustrated with the replacement not responding, I left this thing alone for a while. Marstech Customer Service did not give up, and contacted me later, still offering to help. I tried it again, and the SD slot started working. The Micro SD slot still was not working, but then started working after a few more tries. Kinda funky, but at this point, the replacement is working okay. I am changing my rating to 4 due to the good customer service, and the fact that it is now working. I hope it does not have a relapse! Update June 7, 2022: Relapse! The card reader portion stopped working. I tried their suggestion of uninstalling and re-installing the device in Device Manager, but could not get it to come back. However, after informing Marstech, they refunded the purchase price without being asked. I feel the company responded promptly and well each time, and did everything they could to make it right with me. 5 stars for Customer Service! ... show more
