I found this yarn from a tutorial on YouTube, and I was quite impressed with the first color "troll" I Purchased to make a baby blanket. I used the simple crochet "V stitch" with a shell border. Since it is a 3K size, it took time to work with this yarn and actually make the blanket. I used a size G crochet hook, so I had to be patient because this blanket worked up slowly. When I finished, I was quite impressed with the color striping. So I purchased this color "Griffin" and have been very happy working with it. I am using the same stitch for this yarn, I will be purchasing this brand of yarn for future projects. It says it is a good yarn for baby blankets because it washes well, not super soft, but durable. Really fun color choices with fun names! I recommend it for sure! ... show more

This yarn is almost impossibly soft. Ridiculously, wonderfully, amazingly soft. I wish I could convey adequately how insanely soft this stuff is, but unless you feel it for yourself, words won't do it justice. I got 3 skeins of it (in Billings Chocolate) to make a scarf and I'd like to get more in a variety of other colors. I'm knitting on size 14 needles, and this stuff knits up really quickly. Also, its bulkiness seems to be forgiving when it comes to sloppy stitching (I knit on the train and the motion can sometimes mess with my ability to keep consistent tension). The resulting knit is fantastically soft (have I mentioned how soft this yarn is?), thick and cozy, and remarkably stretchy.. So, if this yarn is so fantastic, why not 5 stars? Well, I notice that the strand seems to come apart pretty easily. I've stuck the needle into the strand more than once, and met no resistance. Also, I notice that as I'm working through my first skein, about a quarter of the way through, the strand is somewhat unraveled already. I'm hoping that it'll stay together once it's knit into the scarf, but it's kind of discouraging to encounter this so early on. All in all, this yarn is nice - works up fast, makes a really nice feeling product, and it's soft (seriously). As long as it holds up, I think I'll be buying more of this yarn! ***Update*** I've amended my review from 4 stars to 5. After going through 3 skeins of this yarn, I've absolutely fallen in love with it. Yes, it does kind of come apart a little bit while knitting, but the finished product seems like it's going to be durable. I got this yarn to crochet a blanket for a Slytherin fan because I needed/wanted a silver yarn that was soft and not scratchy. It did not disappoint! It is SO soft and does actually have some silvery sheen to it. This yarn has been perfect for what I needed. I have been using a double crochet with a 10.0MM hook for this blanket. The yarn twist is a bit looser than other yarns, so you have to be watchful not to split the yarn with each stitch. Great lighter weight (3) yarn. I am somewhat new to crochet and had been using weight 4 but wanted a lightweight blanket instead of the heavy ones I’ve been making. This yarn is perfect for that. It’s soft too!
