  • Best IEM for the price, near HD800S levels of detail, imaging and soundstage
Size: 3.5mm
I came from UE triple fi 10s as my favorite iem, to Shuoer Tapes, now to these and oh my dog. I run Senny HD800S with a Magnius/Modius Schiit stack setup as my daily driver and these are the closest IEM to those cans. Lows: extremely detailed, great punch, attack and decay, and very fast. Great sub bass extension too. Mids: even more detailed and slightly forward. Great transition from lows with no discernable gap as many BA IEMs have. Vocals, strings and instruments shine but are not shouty great depth, separation and imaging as well. Highs: sparkling but not fatiguing. Amazing detail, separation and depth as well. Better than even the tape and tape pros, absolutely smokes the Ikko OH10s. Soundstage: wider than any iem I have listened to with amazing depth. Very easy to place instruments in a recording or an enemy in a video game. While not as wide as my HD800S it's far wider than hd660s, and hifiman Anandas. If I had to place it I'd put the soundstage on par with the hifiman arya's. Gaming: yes, just yes. It's like having wall hacks because you can clearly hear where the enemy is at, very similar to hd800s in that regard. Value: best value IEM I have heard. It punches well above it's class. Chifi has come an extremely cling way and this is a prime example of it. Issues: now with all the great there is a few bad with these you need to be ready for. Sensitivity: these IEMs are extremely sensitive and will find noise floors way easier than I expected on many amp setups. If you are using a really powerful amp you will hear noise if using the 2.5mm balanced cable into an XLR. I would recommend the 4.4mm pentaconn to an xlr adapter to reduce any grounding issues that the 2.5mm might have, thus causing noise. On the flip side it means these are very easy to drive. Like seriously even a non amped adapter can run these to ear bleeding levels. Second issue: no adapters are included. You will need to pick up adapters if you are going with the 2.5 or 4.4mm balanced. Eartips: included eartips are ok but can cause comfort issues. These things go in deep and some people with smaller canals might find them uncomfortable without the right tips. Strongly recommend Spinfits cp100 ear tips. Upgrade paths: Cable is great but might want a shorter or longer one or even a different connector. Ear tips: best to do this now Comply: comfort 400 - fits no issues but a little tight in ear Spinfits: cp100 - best fit and comfort Conclusion: what are you waiting for, you got this far in the review that I think it is obvious these are worth every penny. If you want an amazing IEM this very well be the best for the price. 5 out of 5 ... show more

  • AVOID! Read the forums. These WILL break. The only variable is WHEN they'll break
Size: 3.5mm
I bought early, based on BGGAR's recommendation. I've had them a little over a year, though I didn't use them much until about a month or so ago, when they became my daily driver. All over Chinese IEM discords and in groups, as well as Hi-Fi headphone forums, you'll hear the tales of woe with this IEM and company. I'd hoped I'd gotten lucky. I bought mine before the tales of breaking started. No one gets lucky with these. They sound great, but the reason they're only $300 is that the manufacturer didn't and won't go that extra little step to make sure they're correctly built to last. It's so silly to try to save money this way. Save your money for something built to last. ... show more

  • Quad Sonion-Mid BA; Richest mid-range tonality for sub$1000
Size: 3.5mm
-Nice bass rolled flat tuning. Out of box: 6BA+1DD, well expected good resolution, par with blessing2, A class. -slightly darker than pure flat E500. Not as dark as Weatone tuning. But it makes Tea a contender for laid back tuning. -one draw back is that the sound although being 6BA and neutral tuning, Tea lacks sound stage and the imaging is rather flat. This can be solved by recabling. I tried various cables, and ended up to PW Audio Copper 28 V2. -Tonality wise good, technicalities wise it runs behind the $300 competitors like Blessing2. I did a quick test of Mangird Tea vs DUNU Studio SA6 as they both has 6BAs, with Tea an extra DD. I had hard time pulling off the stock cable from Tea, but somehow managed with my finger’s minor injury.. I used SA6’s really nicely made cable for Tea, and same ear tips which I’m using for SA6, now Tea’s sound stage got improvement, sound coordination and positioning, as well as vector presentation/ sound momentum for significantly improved. It was Tea’s poor stock cable that’s limiting. I may have to carefully examing Mangird Tea vs SA6 & Blessing2 OG& Dsuk, as my current impression using same equipment with SA6 is quite positive. Tea has good potentials ... show more
