  • Wonderful product, best I've ever used for this price
Color: Black Style: Gen 2 Pattern Name: Earphones
These are wonderful I've been using them 4 hours a day for a few months now and they are still holding up well, sound is great and it does a fine job at cancelling noise, there has never been a situation where I couldn't hear these, but they did take a day to break in. Sound quality is good too. Microphone is crisp and works, my only tiny little complaint is the buttons are so tiny, I thought I'd get used to it but I haven't. They're just weird. Other than that I can't recommend these enough. Update May 2019: Less than a year old and one of tougher metal bands that wraps over the ear so it fits nicely on the ear broke so my right headphone has no sound, I have been trying to get in contact with Shure to see if they can do anything about it but I have not heard back from them. I think the cable actually snapped, which is weird as I never keep these headphones in my pocket (I carry the case they came with everywhere), but I am going to change my rating from 5 to 1 star as it doesnt seem like a $100 pair of earbuds should last less than a year with normal use. ... show more

  • Comfortable, durable quality: don't judge these too harshly until you've read the user guide!
Color: Blue Style: Gen 1 Pattern Name: Earphones
I use mine to help me sleep, so comfort was important to me. Before I understood how to wear these, I thought they were uncomfortable, but when I read they are designed to be worn with the cord going up and around the ear, worn properly, they are more comfortable than any earbuds I have ever worn while sleeping, plus, this over-the-ear design ensures a snug fit that enables experiencing the incredible deep bass these earphones allow you to hear. Be sure to make use of the Android/iOS switch so the unit works correctly with your phone or tablet. I purchased mine in November of 2018, and have used them every night since then. Previously, the longest any earbuds have lasted has been three months, with many cheaper "unbreakable" sets lasting less than one month. I am apparently very hard on my earbuds while I sleep. Today, May 1st, 2019, I thought I had finally broken them when the right channel stopped producing sound. However, I was able to troubleshoot them because the earphones can be detached from the cable, and I discovered it was the right earphone that was not producing sound, and not a cable problem. I followed the maintenance instructions, taking them apart and cleaning them, and suddenly, these earphones work as flawlessly as they did when they were new. Of all the "unbreakable" sets I have purchased in the past, this is the first set that has proven to withstand the abuse I give them, and SHURE doesn't even advertise that aspect of these high-quality earphones. It disturbs me to read so many negative comments about these excellent earphones. I suspect the people complaining did not read the instructions to understand how to use them, because I had similar misgivings about these earphones when I first received them until I read the directions. $99 is a lot to spend if you are used to buying cheap $10 earphones, but used properly, they are so superior to any I have ever tried (including several "unbreakable" $60 earphones) that if these do ever finally break, I'll be replacing them with the same thing. ... show more

  • Decent motorcycle use under helmet
Color: Clear Style: Gen 2 Pattern Name: Earphones
These were purchased for use exclusively on my Honda when I am out and about. These 215's do a great job on 3 fronts for me. They let my helmet go on off with little disturbance to their seating in my ear, if any. They do a good job of noise cancellation while providing pretty solid music to my ears. Bass is good and microphone works well on voice calls. Overall very pleased with these. ... show more

  • Good headphones for the price! (Updated May 2019)
Color: Black Style: Gen 2 Pattern Name: Earphones
Edit (May 2019): I received my new pair and they've held up great. This edit though is to fix what I've said below about the left ear bud on the old pair dying. I didn't throw them away and instead dropped them in a box of wires because I'm a hoarder. The left earbud on the new pair started going out and I thought there may be a serious QA problem; however, it turns out that ear wax is simply able to escape through the holes of the earbuds and into the shaft where the pad connects. I had to remove the pads and dig out the earwax that was stuck in there and we were back in action; I repeated this on my old pair that I thought were dead and it was the exact same issue. Pretty gross and I must have a broken earwax spout in my left ear, but both pairs are still kicking. =) At least I have a backup. Edit: I bought these July 2018. It is now early February 2019 and the left ear bud has been dying for months.. thought I was going deaf in that ear but it officially is dead. Ordered a new pair (because I loved them) and am going to see if I'm still under warrenty for these now dead ones (in hopes of a backup pair) since there is 0 cable damage. Good headphones for the price! I was torn between these and the Shure 535 (wireless&wired option @ $499) as I needed a new IEM for traveling. I truly wanted the improved quality of the 535's, but couldn't justify the terrible wireless connectivity/battery life and fear of leaving them somewhere when I travel for the price--so I opted for this entry-level version--and I don't regret it at all! Sound quality is decent. I'd say they're about even with the Sennheiser Momentum/HD1 in-ears, with less bass and different mid/high-ends, but they're 100x more comfortable in terms of sitting in the ear (plus, the wrap-around style keeps them from falling out of the ear when getting caught or yanked by things). I am a Sennheiser fanboy but they simply don't have a competitive option in this space anymore. These 215's aren't nearly as tedious to sit in the ear as I had thought they would be. Sound isolation is unreal for a IEM out-of-the-box that doesn't have any type of noise cancelling and I find myself having to slide one ear out when roaming around towns or crossing streets. I've traveled with them twice now (1 week trips using them daily) and use them at the gym 3-4 times a week. They're worth the money. I'm definitely glad I picked these up instead of investing in a higher-priced alternative.. now I can wait for the wireless game to catch up a bit in the next year or two. I'll try to remember to update this post in time to confirm whether or not they've held up. ... show more
