Features

  • 7Hz x Crinacle: The Collaboration That Made HistoryThe original Zero, which was made in collaboration between 7Hz and Crinacle, made history by being one of the best performing budget IEMs in the market. Crinacle is a world renown reviewer, whose frequency graph database has changed the audio market forever. Using his prolific experience with IEM and headphone sound profiles, Crinacle has provided guidance in tuning the Zero once again to have the best tonal balance possible. The updated Zero:2 features Crinacles inputs in order to refine this tried-and-true model in order to take it to the next level.
  • More Bass, Keeping Tonal ExcellenceThe original Zero had one of the best-in-class tonal balance for a budget single dynamic driver IEM. However, this tonal balance also meant taming the bass, which may have been lacking for audiences wanting a more exciting sound. The Zero:2 maintains the perfect sound signature whilst adding on 3dB more in the low frequencies, which provides an engaging and powerful bass presence to bring your music to life. Bass impact and extension are markedly improved, providing more texture and tactile hits to the lows. Additionally, the midrange has a slightly improved body and warmth compared to the original Zero.
  • New 10mm Dynamic DriverThe improvements in the tonal characteristics of the Zero:2 were made possible thanks to a newly developed 10mm dual cavity dynamic driver. With an upgraded PU+Metal composite diaphragm, the driver is significantly more responsive, allowing faster diaphragm movement. This allows for harder hitting bass, while maintaining crispness and precision with each note. With a frequency range of 10Hz to 20kHz, the improvements in the new driver is immediately noticeable. The slight warmth in the low-mids provides a fuller sound to instrument and vocal fundamental frequencies, yet still keeping the melodies clean and free from bass bleed.
  • The 7Hz Legacy7Hz made global waves with several of its most popular models. IEMs such as the Salnotes Zero, Dioko, and Timeless gathered massive popularity due to their amazing price-to-performance value. 7Hz has proven itself to the worldwide audience as a trusted manufacturer of high-performance IEMs, and will continue its legacy with better innovations and stronger community engagement.
  • Improved Custom CableThe Zero:2 has been upgraded with a new high-purity oxygen-free copper cable with silver plating. Arranged in a coaxial structure, each wire is woven with 140.06 and 250.06 winding to strengthen the cable, as well as bringing about better audio transmission. The cable is removable to customize your listening experience as well as enhance the longevity of your IEM.

  • Awesome sound for a song
Color: Silver
These IEMs are very comfortable and they sound incredible. This is the first IEM that sounds tonally balanced enough out of the box that EQ is not necessary. The truly amazing part is the price. It's unbelievable we get this kind of quality for practically pocket change.

  • Unbelievable value for the money
Color: Blue
Just as billed, these are a lot like the original Zero but with a bit more bass and a bit less treble. For me this is definitely the better sounding one, although I love the original 7Hz Zero as well and can certainly understand some people preferring it. This new model comes with a significantly better cable than the old one. For the Zero 1 I felt the need to replace the cable (nearly doubling the IEM's cost), but for these I'm fine sticking with the stock cable. It's astonishing to me that we can get this kind of sound quality out of $25 IEMs now. These are cheap enough that I've started gifting them to family so they can hear why I've been so hooked on repeatedly buying IEMs (previously much more expensive ones). So far, the reactions are very positive. ... show more

  • Hands-down THE best earphones I've ever used! Not for smaller ears, though.
Color: Blue
These IEMs are simply the best value I've gotten out of $25, compared to all the other earphones I've tried in my life. However, their size and shape are not for everyone. The drivers have a lot of power and very little distortion across the entire range. The bass is clear and well-balanced, complementing the type of mixes found in most electronic and jazz music. The mids are extremely well-polished and do not sound too washed out or too noisy. Finally, the highs are especially crystal-clear while not being too ringy. Overall, these IEMs have helped me get better mixes on the [electronic] tracks I produce. As for the fit, it is excellent, but only for medium to big ear sizes. I have average-sized ears, and these fit perfectly and do not cause any fatigue or long-term pain. However, for my sister whose ears are much smaller than mine, the ear tips barely make it halfway due to the drivers' housing being too large to fit in her ears. I'd say this is also due to them being in this "iceberg" shape. I'm sure that the size and shape of the housing has a small amount to do with the sound characteristics, but I feel like something still could have been done for the ergonomics of these IEMs. Finally, the cable is very nice. Certainly much better than all other cables I've experienced on both headphones and earphones. They flow very well and don't tangle so easily, even if I crumple them up or leave them in my pocket. Whenever they do tangle, however, the ability for the cable to detach from the drivers helps immensely in the process of untangling. The small bead that limits the two sides' separation is not too loose and not too tight; I've found myself using it more often than those on other earphones. The only other thing I can say - these being the first cable-over-the-ear IEMs I've used - is that there is certainly a learning curve to determining which side is which and exactly how to put them on. This made for an interesting experience when I first tried to share one side with my siblings. All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this if you want powerful, lush, and balanced-sounding earphones for a very good price, unless your ears are on the smaller side. ... show more

  • Best price to performance imo (at the time of review)
Color: Silver
Caveat in the title due to chi-fi moving so fast. Coming from a few "cheap" IEMs in the chi-fi world, Tin T2s, Aria, Zero 1's, I really love these Zero2s. Sound is great, Crinacle did a great job boosting the bass ever so slightly and dropping the mids so it wouldn't be as shouty. Overall, for ~25, I don't think you can do better. These sound great, the cable is... passable. No microphonics at all, connection is strong, nothing to complain about overall. These are a fantastic set of IEMs for quick travel, desk work, wherever you don't have better IEMs available. These don;t compete with the Blessing 2 or Blessing 3, but they're beyond fine for everyday use. Well done SalNotes + Crinacle! ... show more

  • Why are there any ratings below 5 stars?
Color: Silver
Strictly speaking about the product and how it sounds for the money, these are incredible for the money. OK, I understand someone rating it less than 5 stars because it got lost, arrived late or was damaged but any other nonsense about cheap ear tips, cheap wires, or having to connect the wires to the IEMs is just ridulous for the price and the quality of sound from these IEMs for the price. I never would have considered buying any IEMs at this price point until I read the review and sound measurements of these IEMs on Audio Science Review along with the many thread posts from folks I know and respect as true Audiophiles attesting to the measurements, accuracy, and astonishing fidelity of these IEM's. So I ordered them and I can also attest that these sound as good, and better than most high dollar big name headphones and the majority of speakers costing thousands of dollars that I have heard and owned during my 45+ years as an audiophile. Get these and some updgraded ear tips, plug them into a high quality audio source and be amazed at how good $25 can sound! ... show more

  • I've been into audio for half a century. These IEM's equal my very expensive stuff.
Color: Orange
If you haven't tried IEMs before, get these NOW. They have fantastic, deep bass, the mids are shockingly clear, and the highs... Well, I'm old. Up to 14500 Hz, they are great. I can't hear after that! I have Senn HD 800s, HD 600, and Carver Amazings (that's what they are named!). I run EQ on all of them to get exactly the sound I want. I've been very pleased with them. So it was shocking how good the Zero:2's were. I *have* EQ'd these, too. A couple dB up at 20 Hz, Q=2, a dB and a quarter down at 125 Hz, Q=1.25, and 1.5 down at 4500 Hz, Q=1. I can listen to these for 5 hours without any irritation, and could listen longer. My other transducers-I'm done at 2 or 3 hours. ... show more

  • Fit really well and sound great
Color: Silver
For $25, I wasn’t expecting much. However, once I set them up and put them in my ears they feel great. I tend to often lay in bed with my headphones on my side and most headphones hurt my ears, however, these fit snug inside and I don’t have much uncomfort, especially in comparison to other headphones, when laying down. I also think the sound is great, gets really loud, however, I’m very used to much larger drivers. But for $25, I can’t complain at all. ... show more
