  • Excellent! Bravo!
I thought this little aquarium would be a cute way to jazz up my otherwise boring office and I was right. I didn't want real fish because I didn't want to be responsible for cleaning the tank and frankly, because I've always thought really small fish tanks (a gallon or less) were hard to keep and not really a healthy environment for fish. However my little plastic fish seem to enjoy their little world as they swim about. This little office doodad gets lots of attention and it's a great conversation starter. The fish swim around using the motion of the motor-blown water. It's incredibly silent and the only sounds I ever hear is the occasional 'clink' of one of the plastic fish as it bangs against the side of the tank. However, it's not very loud and you probably won't notice it in an average office environment or bedroom. The fish are moderately detailed and their tails are hinged to simulate swimming, though I've never actually seem the tails move. The 3 LED lights and the decorative backsplash are nice touches that make the aquarium seem more realistic. One thing to note is that the listed dimensions are wrong. The correct dimensions are 7L by 4H by 2.5D, which is considerably smaller than the description states. I have no idea why they exaggerate as the product is nice and should sell on its own merits. I want to emphasize that this is not your average cheap Chinese-made toy. The plastic is thick, the edges are smooth and the motor runs very quietly. I bought two of them and both were excellently made; right down to the three included fish. Try to resist the temptation of setting up this aquarium without reading the directions or you'll find yourself cursing like a wounded pirate because the aquarium doesn't work (I'm speaking from first-hand experience here). If you set it up correctly per the directions, you'll soon be enjoying this awesome little 'toy.' You may even find yourself naming your fish like I did. LOL. These make great gifts and I highly recommend to anyone who wishes to jazz up their office or cubicle. ... show more

  • THIS IS A SUPER CUTE PRODUCT!!!!
After Christmas, I had asked my friend if she bought the goldfish her daughter had asked for. She told me she hadn’t because she worried her daughter would not keep up with her fish. So I decided to see what Amazon had in the way of fish aquariums, but with fake fish that appeared real. I saw this little aquarium and put it in my wish list, to think on. I didn’t want to buy a gift that looked cheap or really fake. I decided to take a chance and handed it to my friend’s mom without seeing it and told her to give it away if it was a disappointment. The next time I stopped by that little girl came running to me with this darling little aquarium! Oh my goodness! I was so very pleasantly surprised. Usually you kind of expect the worst but this was the best!! She is so pleased and the little size of it was perfect for her, and the fish just swim around, their little flippers constantly in movement like a real fish! I don’t know who thought this up but it’s the cutest thing I’ve seen in awhile, if you’re thinking and hesitating like I was GO FOR IT!! ... show more

  • To expensive to not work
The media could not be loaded. This is a product I’ve been eyeing for a while now. It was on my saved list for about two months before I caved and got it. The purpose I got it was for my cats. It was $32 and I didn’t know if I wanted to spend that on something that was going to be tiny but It was the best reviewed so I got it. I put it together and it was loud! Unexpectedly loud. The cats saw it as just noisy and ignored it. The fish all gathered in one corner but moved a little. Then on day two it just didn’t work. It’s still noisy as you can hear (which is not ideal for apartment living) in the video but the fish don’t move around anymore. So I am disappointed in paying $32 for something to do nothing. It’ll be returned. ... show more

  • Not A Bad Little Tank....
I got this little aquarium to replace a bar top Jellyfish Light that the motor had went out on. It's really a nice small tank and fits very well on my bar top. The one thing that I've noted from checking the other reviews on it were the size of it. It is a small little tank and as an example if you had one of those DVD storage shelves this item would fit very well on top of it and still have a small bit of room left over. It's just not a big tank. It comes with an AC adapter (4.5 volts @ 500 mA). It has three small fish (These are a bit smaller than the extra fish you normally get. Something to consider if wanting more fish as the hole on the top of the tank is barely large enough to push the fish through.) The tails of the fish are hinged and can move back and forth but you don't notice this when they are moving around. The tank also has a background picture that fits on the back of the tank which is not bad. In my case, I removed it as the bar I have the tank on, cuts the Living Room apart from the Kitchen and so I wanted the fish moving around in the tank to be seen from both the Living Room and Kitchen. Set up was easy. I suggest not filling the tank all the way to the top at first until you place the fish into it. I slightly over filled it and had to mop up a small amount of water as the fish displaced move than I felt they would. The instructions for setting it up are simple and easy to follow. Since I have the Jellyfish Light, I was aware of the 1-2 drop of liquid soap needed and also letting the water circulate a bit first. My first impression after set up and when I first turned it on, was "was in on?". That's how quiet it was and I even had trouble telling if the water was moving. At first, I wondered if it was working then I noted some very small bubbles moving around so I knew it was working. After getting the fish in the tank, I watched to see what kind of movement they had. Since the pump blows the water out from the bottom, the fish go from bottom to top most of the time and I noted they tend to "swim backward" a lot of the time as their tails something catch the current and cause them to spin a bit. I found myself sitting on my sofa just watching them move around. Overall, this was just what I wanted. A small and not over powering tank that would catch your eye and just let you sort of relax watching the show. Well, worth it! ... show more

  • Artificial Aquarium
The fan does not last long. After a few weeks the fish stop moving. I like that it doesn't require maintenance. It is pretty to look at. Thanks
