This airplane is awesome!!! I have 3 boys and I was looking for an outdoor toy they can be rough on that can take it and this is it! I would say this is park playground quality and compared to other high quality outdoor toys like swing sets and jungle gyms it's pretty cheap. My husband and our 8 year old put it together in about 2 1/2 hours. This needs to be on level ground or as close as you can get it. We've had lots of kids playing on this at one time and it takes the weight perfectly. The propeller and the steering wheel and seats are made of plastic but it's NOT the cheap plastic you see on a lot of kids toys these days. I've had kids 2-13 playing on this and the 13 year old was a little big for th 2 plane seats inside the plane but she could could fit easily on the other 5 seats. It's comes in a very heavy box which is probably obvious but when mine was delivered I have a heck of a time moving it. I needed a dolly. My only negative comment would be the box was ripped open when it arrived and the delivery guy said he noted it in his system in case any of the pieces were missing (a few of the metal pieces were actually sticking about an inch out of the box) but there was no damage to any of the pieces and nothing was missing so it all worked out. This thing is so cool! I have wanted it for a long time for my kids, and I finally went ahead and ordered. It seems very sturdy and durable. The instructions were very thorough. I put this together by myself in about 2.5 hours, and about an hour of that was in the dark while it snowed 😂. That time includes laying out all parts in the grass. The only part that confused me was about having the dimpled holes facing out. I didn’t see any dimples. Both sides looked the same. It didn’t seem to make any difference either way though. 🤷🏻♀️ As others have mentioned, DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS until the instructions say to do so. There will be bolts that you have to remove to add the wings. The instructions are great though and are very clear about finger-tightening only. ... show more

Like others have noted, this is very popular with the kids, even more popular that most playsets. We bought it so that our yard would have something different for our kids and their friends to play in that wasn't another trampoline or playset, which everyone else has already. I'm giving the product a 5 stars based on how fun it is after assembly. The assembly is pretty hard. Here are some pointers that you absolutely must follow (which we didn't, and this caused it to take about twice as long as it would have if we had followed them) 1. Do not use power tools. They will most definitely strip the head of the bolts, which happened in our case. I knew I was not supposed to used power tools and thought I would anyway. Stripped a few bolts and had to spend time to remove them. This brings me to the next point 2. Do not tighten all the bolts. Leave all of them loose till assembly is complete. Some of the bolts need to be removed and re attached. Again, something we did wrong which cost us time as the bolts to be removed were stripped. 3. The toy must be placed on a soft surface, such as a lawn. However, in just one day of use, the spots below the two wings became into holes in my lawn. Keep that in mind. Your lawn will get destroyed to some degree or the other. We ended up moving the plane to the far back of our yard where I don't care for a few bumps and holes. 4. Friends reccomend supergluing the plastic caps on several pieces to prevent them from being removed accidentally during moving the toy. 5. Assembly involves driving screws through holes in metal pipes that must be perfectly aligned. This was much harder than assembling a TV stand, or a crib, where you are screwing wooden components together. Greater torque is needed and you risk getting the screw stuck if it is not aligned perfectly. ... show more

I ordered this for grandkids and they love it. The guys had a few issues putting it together because of the awkwardness of the parts. It took 3 of them to do it. It is sturdy enough for kids to play on yet light enough to easily move around the yard for mowing. I would recommend this product.

    • Outstanding Product and the Kids Love It!

This is our second Lifetime playground product. We bought the Big Stuff Adventure Play Set earlier this year, and for Christmas, we wanted another good quality product like the play set for our home playground. My wife chose this Teeter Totter. It arrived promptly and was delivered to our front door step in a large cardboard box. All parts were present, along with the instruction manual. On Christmas day, my teenager girl and I began working on it on the front porch. Although one person can do most of the work alone, I would recommend one other adult or teenager to assist to make it a bit easier and speed the construction process along. We finished it within a few hours and had it ready for our two toddler daughters to play. It is very durable, and this weekend it supported four toddlers playing on it with no problem. I noted that the children loved to explore the different seats and I could tell their imaginations were literally going wild with the airplane cockpit. Once constructed, it was easy for two of us to carry it around to the side yard where the other playground equipment is. I wouldn't recommend one person trying to carry or move it, although the "skids" do slide on the ground fairly well. It is now part of our family playground, and the kids love our Lifetime products. This is an amazing outdoor activity for kids ages 2 through 10! It competed with a real pony at my grand-daughter's 4th birthday party and was very popular! It was difficult for my husband to put together, but well worth the time. Needed a more durable wrench other than what came with product.
