I installed it in my chicken coop and it makes things more comfortable. I like that it can be powered by batteries or a power adapter/plug. I like that I can set opening and closing times, instead of just opening at sunrise and closing at sunset, because I have a dog that doesn't play well with chickens and we need to make sure they don't play outside together. We have a coop built for the chickens. Installation is easy and programming is easy. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. This is super easy to deal with. Simple to program. Door opens and closes at the correct programmed time. One thing to note is that when the door is in the up position, it increases the height of the unit by just over 10 inches. So factor this into your installation! We needed to cut a thin notch above it as our run is covered. The price seems midrange for this unit compared to similar products. That being said, overall I feel these things are perhaps priced a bit on the high side. The convenience factor is what makes these so appealing, and really who wants to maunally operate their chicken coop door in the rain or cold when this item can take care of that. I don't!     • Used for 9 month then the solar stops to work

Our solar panel stopped working two days ago. I hope there is a way to purchase just the solar panel. We are not sure if it's the panel itself or the connection that went bad. When initially installed, we have put in three AA batteries. As soon as I detach the solar connection, the screen shows power. As soon as we plugged the solar back in, the screen went black. Today, we changed out three batteries with the hope that they will last longer. BTW, how long should the batteries last? ... show more

Came in with something rattling, noticed a set screw floating around in the box, had no L wrench that fit it, the back is flat and the wheel that operates it sticks out the back. And has to be the cheapest damn screws I ever seen. Had one snap when screwing into a 2x4.. Update. After a week of owning and this door is junk in my opinion, keeps having issues closing and opening all the way, several times I come home at lunch and the door didn't open all the way.i wouldn't suggest anyone wasting $70 on this. Update, company sent me a new one, and these are junk. Been working fine and then yesterday I was at work all day and come home, the door never opened and the ducks was trapped in their coop all day. Don't buy this junk. Got lucky they didn't die. ... show more

Don’t Waste your money on this product. The door won’t go up or down. There’s something to turn it won’t catch and of course it’s too late to return it once I installed it in the spring.. Update: the company contacted me and offered me a full refund or a replacement. I’ll let you know how the replacement does. Update: The replacement product is working perfectly. Luckily. I didn't have to modify my existing door frame, since my coop is home made . Took about 45 minutes to install. Instructions were understandable and uncomplicated. Easy to set the timers too. I've had the door since mid August, and have not had any problems with the door. It's a dependable product. Matter of fact, I absolutely love not having to go out to the coop first thing every morning, rain or shine, to open the coop when the sun comes up. I get to have a cup of coffee first. ... show more
