I’ve been wanting to buy a lick mat for quite some time. I have a 14-year-old beagle/Jack Russell who licks everything. My carpet, my comforter. Sometimes my shoes. As much as I love him, he’s become very needy and whiny and constantly needs my attention. I work from home and sometimes I just need some peace and quiet. The lick mat gives me that. I spoon peanut butter or yogurt into it. And I get a blissful 20+ minutes of silence. I actually notice I get extended time if I have frozen it ahead of time. I agree with some of the other reviewers that it is not the easiest to clean. Yogurt is easier than peanut butter to clean for sure. But the benefits outweigh that mild irritation so I’m giving it five stars because it truly does what it’s supposed to do ... show more

These lock mats are fantastic. They keep our clever little border collie pup occupied for quite a awhile. It works great as a tool to calm her down and focus her mind on one task. The licks mats are durable against sharp puppy teeth and are dishwasher safe. They are simple to use and the suction cups really work on tile floor. Suction works ok on wood floor. This is a great, affordable, easy to use activity. On those rainy days when the pups are left home alone? This is a much better alternative to chewing chair and table legs, and playing tug-of-war with a sofa pillows! This lick mat comes with a small, rubber spatula, and I buy peanut butter (with no additives) and smear a couple of tablespoons on each mat. I didn't know if my dog would like these, but decided to try them when we switched to moist food from dry. These mats help my dog eat slower, allowing me time to enjoy my own meal, without sad-faced mooching. We started making our own dog food from real, healthy foods, and running it through the food processor so he can't eat around the veggies and just eat the meat. When everyone is done eating, he has "trained" me to help him get the last bits of food out, by twisting and bending the mats to give him access to the food stuck in the crevices! We got these for our pit. We have spread them with greek yogurt and peanut butter, and both work well to keep him occupied for a while. They are pretty hard to clean, and I have resulted to tossing on the top rak of the dishwasher bc its near impossible to wash by hand. They do suction to the counter and tile, but doesnt really help much in his kennel. I wish it came with a hook for that. ... show more

If you are crate training a pup, buy this product! Especially if you work from home! We put plain Greek yogurt on part of it and peanut butter on another part (no xylitol ingredient…bad for dogs). You could also use puréed veggie-safe food, too. FREEZE this. Lasts way longer for pup to work on. We hang it from an S hook in the lower corner of her crate. That way she can lay down after awhile. Lasts us TWO hours! Happy, busy pup. No barking or whining. After she works on this, she’s pretty tuckered & naps. Truly a life-saver!! Get a scrub brush to clean thoroughly after each use. That’s a bit of work for you but sooooo worth it! ... show more

These are great! I have a lab and a rescue pit mix. They love these Mats. Bananas, pumpkin, Greek yogurt, peanut butter all kinds of food. You can freeze them if you want. Great suction. They keep them busy for a while.
