Description

Lichamp Painters tape masking tape, Green, 1 inch wide, 55 yards per roll, 4 rolls include, total 220 yards Features: 1. Good instant adhesion that sticks to a wide variety of surfaces and helps reduce labor. 2. Good holding power to help resist lifting or curling. 3. Crepe paper backing provides conformability for easy handling and application. 4. Easily hand tearable, yet resists slivering. 5. Special backsize treatment provides easy to use controlled unwind. 6. Designed for indoor and outdoor use. How to use: 1. Clean Surface: The surface should be clean, dry and dust-free so the tape sticks properly. 2. Apply Tape: Lay tape onto the surface, pressing down as you go. Don't stretch the tape, or it may lift or break. 3. Secure Tape: Press tape down firmly with a smooth edge, like a putty knife or credit card. 4. Let Tape Set: Wait about 30 to 60 minutes before you begin painting. 5. Wait: Wait until the paint is dry to the touch before removing the tape. Check the paint can for the manufacturer's dry times. 6. Score: Use a putty knife or razor blade to score along the edge of the tape. This prevents paint from being pulled up with the tape and from cracking along the paint line. 7. Tape: Taking your time, lift up the painter's tape and pull it back on itself, removing at a 45 degree angle. If adhesive sticks to the surface, try a 90-degree angle. 8. Clean Finish: You'll get a sharp, clean line and a professional looking paint job! • Label Your Food Like The Bear
I am not a painter. I know this stuff is called painters tape but that's not how I am using it. I'm a hardcore foodie who loves to cook. I watched 'The Bear' on Hulu and fell in love with the idea of labeling my food with green tape just like they did on the award-winning show. Here's how I do it. I stretch out an appropriate length of tape and cut a perfectly square piece. IYKYK. Next, I fold about 1/2 inch of the left end of my piece of tape back on itself to create a tiny handle. I stick the tape to the counter, write out my label and the date, and then stick it to my food container before I put it in the fridge or freezer. No more mystery bags or containers and no more wondering, "How long has this been in here?" Once the food has been consumed, I grab the left end of the label by the tiny handle I created and smile as the tape easily releases its hold on my container and has the good manners to not leave any sticky residue behind. Carmy Berzatto would be proud. ... show more

  • From a non-tape expert
I'm not a professional in the construction world, but I am an avid DIYer. In the process of a major bathroom overhaul I realized we were running low on the standard blue painters tape we usually use so I wanted to get some more. I came across this and figured I would give it a try. As far as tape goes, it is about what you would probably expect. This type of product has been around for a while and there are very few differences among the majority of options. There are, of course, the really cheap ones that don't really work at all, but this isn't one of them. It is pretty comparable to other brands out there in that it sticks well and comes off when you need it. You can tear it without the need of scissors which is always good but I did notice one thing that seemed a little different to me. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but this tape almost had more of a papery feel to it. It doesn't feel like paper so that's not a very good description, but I'm not really sure how else to describe it. In straight applications, it goes on just like the others. But I was trying to tape around a curve and noticed it was a little harder for me to work with. Not so hard that I couldn't get the job done, but the blue stuff almost seemed to have a little more stretch to it maybe? Like I said, it's really hard for me to explain, and I'm not sure that most would notice, but it was a little unusual for me. I don't think it would stop me from recommending this to anyone else. It's a good product and I didn't have any problems with it leaving a residue or peeling off the paint (though I didn't leave it on for really long periods of time). If the price is right for you, go ahead an give it a try. ... show more

  • Has room for improvement
I’m always on the lookout for better, and I hoped for the green Lichamp masking tape to have a similar performance to Frog tape. It doesn’t even perform as well as the (far from perfect) blue 3M or Scotch Blue, which is what we normally use for large projects. It seems to withstand moisture a little better than the wider dark blue Lichamp tape, but there were still small air pockets that tend to lift the edges. It flattens out again once dry, but by then the paint has made its way underneath. ... show more

It was a little too strong, for the uses I had. But it is a reliable product.

  • Good Tape
I got this tape to use in my leather shop. I use it to tape down paper patterns that I will need to remove the tape off of without tearing my pattern. It is a little thinner than the blue painters tape I normally use but works just as well. It sticks well and removes easily. I've never used it to mask of an area to paint so I can only speak to the application that I got it for. With that said, it works great. ... show more
