This is a nicely made insulated carrier for casserole dishes as well as other foods. The dual compartments are great for transporting multiple items while keeping them separated. The insulation is decent and somewhat typical of this style of carrier. It will keep some temperature stable, but mainly just slows down cooling off or warming up depending on the state the foods are being initially stored. There is not quite enough insulation, in my view, to adequately keep a cold item and hot item from affecting each other however. But if filling both compartments with either hot or cold foods, it should be fine. The compartments fit standard sized casserole trays easily. If transporting a tray with an elevated lid, it works best in the bottom compartment which has more height to it. I will say however, in practice, I found that the bottom compartment is not quite high enough to accommodate trays with high lids. These taller trays do still fit; however, they push up against the bottom of the upper compartment which may limit overall room. That said, a tray with a higher lid in the bottom and tray with a flat lid on top still fit well. As for materials used, all are good quality. The outer fabric and stitching feel durable. The zippers are good quality zippers with no catching or flimsy feel to them. The pocket on top is a nice addition if bringing additional napkins, silverware, etc. The inner insulation looks good and has some padding. The clasp for the carrying handle is a single push button. I kind of feel that loop and hook might have worked better here, but it still holds the handles together fairly well. Overall, this is a good value and very handy to have when transporting casserole dishes, egg trays, cakes, and other foods. It is made well and feels durable overall. This weekend we had a family picnic and this was a super carrier to get everything there safely. I used the bottom section for a 13 x 9 pan of cake that needed to be kept cold so added some ice packs and zipped it in. The cake arrived cold and was held securely so all the topping was intact. I was also in charge of bring cheeses and quacamole. I put them in the top section above the cake and added small ice packs. They also were cold and undisturbed when I unpacked them. The handle is strong and secures together with a wrap and snap so I didn't worry about dropping this container. I can see using this carrier all the time for carrying a variety of hot or cold foods without worrying about spilling anything. I have never seen a bag where the zipper not only goes around the entire container but also then zips over itself in a spiral. Seeing it actually confused me at first but the functionality of it is really intuitive and helps keep it compact when you want without obnoxious zippers showing everywhere. Great idea! The two compartments definitely keep heat and cold separate well regardless of if the cold or hot dish is on top. I'd recommend putting cold under hot if you carry one of each because of thermodynamics and heat rising etc. This is really well built and taking two covered dishes to an event they stayed well protected from both the insulation and the padding of the bag keeping the glass dishes from hitting the walls of our vehicle during transport. This is much easier than just carrying to dishes freehand and hoping they don't slide, fall, or burn or chill your lap during transport. Great for backyard BBQ gatherings! ... show more

I didn't know how much I needed something like this until I got it. I would often bring casseroles to parties and would try wrapping them in foil and then squeezing the dish in a cardboard box so it wouldn't tip over in the car. If I brought more than one, one would either get smushed or it would be difficult to carry. And the food never stayed warm. This bag solves all of that. You can fit two 9x13 casserole dishes, can be two hot or 2 cold or mixed. The bag is thickly padded/insulated so food stays either hot or cold. A padded easy grip handle makes the bag easy to carry.
