Living in Florida unless you are lucky when hitting a large bass you can lose them on a spinning reel as you don't have the power to move them out from the dock or underbrush. I have been using casting reels for over 50 years and still find this reel almost idiot proof with the special braking system designed for skipping. I have two of them. Odd way sealing with dime-store scotch tape. Makes me think it was a return from some other customer. Sent me a right hand reel, and the order reads LEFT HAND. It may be a super reel, but not the one i ordered.
