  • Great product

i initially thought of using this drive as a backup in my desktop computer but after installation I cloned the drive with the operating system and this is now my main boot drive. Some tasks are noticeably faster with the drive installed so I'm quite pleased with the purchase. I use the original drive mainly for backup purposes since I'm not a big fan of cloud storage. ... show more

  • Low cost, high data storage
Size: 4TB Style: Gen4 PCIe
When I was building my quiet mITX, I knew I needed a large data storage, as I had a bunch of games and recorded gameplay. I was scrolling around PCPartPicker, and found a lot of high storage SSDs were way past my budget, until I came around to this. The only issue I found was one day my computer couldn't detect it but I opened it up and pushed it a little and it's been fine. Ever since, I had no issues on the storage side, and am yet to even get past half the amount of storage on this drive. ... show more

This review is of day 1 recieved. Cloned my game drive partition over to this new drive. Speeds are ok (pic 3) (pic 4+5 are for comparision vs my skhynix and predator drives) This drive fits with Heatsink inside my laptop, asus G513Qm (pick 2) and temps either stay at 48C during benchmark tests or pc was not detecting a change as per hardware monitor. • Do not use the included heat sink. Due to you can never take it off.
Size: 2TB Style: PCIe Gen3 Pro
I bought 2 of these drives. 1st one I pilled off the encoded heatsink and saw it had paper covering the thermopad glued in the heatsink. You will have to take the heatsink off no matter how you install it do to that. I did not use the included thermopad and heatsink due to the m.2 covers on my PC. The 2nd one I tried to use them but did not give enough space for the top screw. I tried to take the heatsink off but the glue was needlessly to tuff to do. In doing that it tore off the 1st 2 chip which was out of warranty and I had to throw it away. Beware take the heatsink off and throw it away. You will only get one shot at installing it. However, the one I installed works great and tested great with read and write speeds. ... show more

  • Inexpensive way to upgrade an old Mac
I had a MacBook Air (2015) with 128GB SSD and macOS 10.15 (Catalina) that was lying around, so I thought I'd upgrade it and see if it could become useful again. It was not my primary computer and I didn't have anything valuable on the existing SSD, so I had nothing to lose by trying. I installed the 1TB NVMe SSD PCIe, which was about 8x more capacity than the existing SSD. Installation was easy, and even after upgrading macOS to 12 (Monterey, the latest version of macOS that the 2015 can operate), there was still plenty of room. I've been using the "new old" Air for about a month, and I've found the SSD to be fast and reliable. For $70-$75 price, it's a tremendous value and an inexpensive way to upgrade an old or existing computer's storage capacity. I know that a brand new Air would be faster (because of the M2 processor), but also quite a bit more expensive. This SSD can breathe new life into an older Mac, or possibly even a newer Mac whose SSD capacity is at its limit. ... show more
