We had been using a traditional 110v outlet to charge our EV. It would take overnight and even sometimes that would not result in a full charge. Amazon had a great deal and I was excited to get the EVGoer charger. An electrician had prepped our garage by adding a 220v wire to our panel and then hardwired this charger the day we got it. It's amazing! We can charge our EV in a couple hours which helps reduce our use of gas for local trips throughout the day. I love that it connects to the Smart Life app, which I already have for lights. One feature that was a must have when choosing an EV charger was a scheduling option. We can schedule to charge when electricity is cheapest, which is great. The charger looks great, modern, and I also love the small LCD screen that displays various pieces of information, which gives it a high-end touch.     • Lack of support, or very hard to get help fast

Was easy to install but very limited on features. The app doesn't work and there's no way to determine a way to get full use of features without it. No phone number is available to call for help with this product. Only email support. Besides these inconveniences it works incredibly well. Our stage 1 charger that came with the vehicle would take 14 hrs to fully charge. While this stage 2 charger took only 1 hrs and 12 mins for a full charge from empty. ]This EV charger is a powerhouse of features. It is loaded with essential features; such as a display that shows the charging data right on the unit, although it can be difficult to read in bright sunlight. This unit also comes with a card reader, so if you install the charger in a location where it is open to the public and people can sneak in and abuse your charger, now you’ve got protection! The charger consumes negligible power (less than 0.5W) when disconnected from the car, making it highly energy efficient. The SmartLife app compatibility (or Tuya, Moes and other home automation platforms) is its standout feature, unlocking endless possibilities for automation and energy management. I live off-grid and rely on solar power to charge my car. When clouds block the sun, my solar production drops, forcing the charger to use battery power. To optimize energy usage, I use the Tuya app and inexpensive devices to monitor solar output and automatically adjust the charging rate accordingly. Additionally, the app can intelligently control my home's heating or cooling based on my car's charging status, assuming I'm home when plugged in. The possibilities for automation are endless. I’ve already set up routines to optimize charging based on solar production and trigger home comfort settings when the car is plugged in. Why the four star rating? There are a few areas for improvement. The charger's design and choice of color is rather dull. Another issue is the card reader system. It could benefit from greater flexibility, allowing users to add or remove cards from the charger as needed. While these points don't overshadow the charger’s strengths, they prevent it from achieving a perfect score. .... I am kidding .... This charger deserves 5 full stars.     • Fast, Auto-Adjusting Level 2 (Home) Charger - Perfect for our Hyundai EV

This charger is very good and provides high amperage as long as it's connected to a sufficiently powered 220V socket, which is not all that hard to have wired into a home breaker box - it does consume 2 slots but most houses have that available. The charging is fast for Level 2 - not quite at peak 80A but easily doing the 48A for which it's rated and our Ioniq5 charged very fast despite my thinking it would take overnight to top off from 3/8ths charge up to nearly full charge. I noticed this charger was self-adjusting for smart charging to lessen strain on battery, and it was slowing down a bit as it neared the 90% mark and did a slower charge from there on up. Should be easy on car batteries, and it sure is well built and easy to use. I'm thrilled with it and hope to see years of good service from it. ... show more

Very cool to have this EV Charger at home! I must admit, I just knew once my husband set everything up and plugged it in the garage, the power in the house would go out but it didn’t! 🙌🏽 😆 Seriously, it’s fast charging, around 30 miles of range per hour, so overnight you’re fully charged. The app is very user friendly, informative, compatible with iPhone/Android and allows you to delay charging until off-peak hours. Came with 2 cards to swipe for charging. Compatible with just about every EV except Tesla, which I think requires an additional adapter, but no worries for me as we have a Kia. Really glad we got this! 🫶🏽 ... show more

Overall, this is a good quality EV Charger that pushes a lot of power. The charger has to be hardwired so if you don't already have a space set up for this, then I would recommend having qualified electrician to do this install. The charger is 50 AMP so it requires 60 Amp breakers which is a fairly heavy power source. There are two ways to use this - an app or the key cards. There is no power button. I understand that the design is meant to prevent unauthorized use, but considering that this is used at my home, that isn't really a concern, so it would have been nice to have a power button. I use the app and I am able to control all functions through it and it is pretty easy to navigate. The unit does have a shut off button on the side. The charger also allows for scheduled charging which is a nice feature. Unless you have a Tesla, the adapter it comes with should work as it is a pretty standard size. All in all, the charger works well, but I wish there was a power button. ... show more
