    • Works Just Like My Ford OEM Charger
I could not be happier with this charger (after only a couple of uses). I have a Ford Fusion Energi with convenience plug-in, that charges in a few hours (oddly enough, I have never timed the charging cycle--I usually plug it in when I get home and it's ready to go the next day). I connect with a 12-ga extension cord to a 15 amp circuit with a GFCI outlet. This charger fits my Fusion perfectly, and began charging immediately. The max draw is 16 amps, but it did not trip my 15-amp circuit breaker. I reached full charge (about 17 miles of driving) in roughly 6 hours, drove my car and exhausted the charge, and recharged again overnight. Charging started and stopped as normal, with nothing unusual at all. We had some torrential rain overnight, and while the charging block is under cover, the charger attachment is exposed to weather and the heavy-duty cable lies on the ground. There was no evidence of any water-related issue. The charger appears to be solid construction and overall very heavy-duty. It functions in every way as well as the OEM, so I'll be able to pack my OEM in the specialized bay in my trunk for charging away from home, and use this charger at my house, where there is exposure to weather and at least a chance of theft. Note that the charger comes with a decent quality zippered bag, some velcro cable management straps, and an adapter to let you connect the NEMA 5-20 plug (for 20-amp connections) to a standard NEMA 5-15 for connection to typical household outlets.     • Great charger but awful plug
Worse thing about this charger is that is uses the NEMA 6-20 plug for the level 2 charging. It looks like a normal 3-prong plug but one of the blades is sideways. Maxes out at 3Kw which is perfect since that is my car's limit too. That plug is not common in the USA and I've only seen it a couple times in my lifetime. I had to get adapters for the dryer plug to fit into this charger. Should just use the NEMA 14-50 but whatever at this point. Once you figure all that out, the charger is great. Level 1 and 2 work as expected and this one was even able to charge automatically if i started my car for conditioning or more power to maintain without unplugging. Just like my factory charger. Cord was a little shorter than others I've used, I have to span across the garage for my current setup so it was a challenge but doable. Come with an adapter to use with a regular outlet for level 1 charging. If you can get adapters or have an outlet installed for level 2 charging, that would be ideal but the non standard plug it what hold it back but it does work and is a good replacement with options if you need that. ... show more

    • Well made, excellent design and materials
Just bought our first EV a Volkswagen 2023 ID 4. Had it now over a week and learning how home charging works; level 1, level 2. Level 1 being 100-120V, and level 2 200-240V {with the installation of a 200-240V outlet which requires an electrician to install}. So, the most cost effective home charging is Level 1 because it uses regular house current and does not need any special wiring. Also, after research that it is recommended that you have at least another Level 1 charger. The reason for example, if you are traveling and say visiting a relative, you can charge your car there. Still researching the cost of getting an electrician to add another 200-240V outlet. Which is much faster than Level 1. The other positive thing about this charger is that it is 200-240V capable. Which is the same as the Volkswagen factory charger. The price point is excellent. ... show more

The design is very reasonable! The material used is very good! Very convenient to use! Charging is fast! There is no charging pile installed at home, so this cable is suitable. Although it is much slower than the charging station, it does not take up time and you can use the night time to charge your car. Installation is simple, Tesla vehicles require the use of an additional adapter plug. ... show more
