The cable stays cool even after several hours of charging, which is great for long sessions. I like the display which gives me the basic info I wanted (charge time and kW hours). It has some other info too which is nice. I had a 48 amp outlet with 60 amp breaker installed. I can charge at 48 A with the charger that came with my car but I wanted something with a display and no app. I've set this one to 20 A since that's a little better for the battery, so it then takes about 8 hrs. I needed a spare for my 2024 Kia Niro PHEV and this turned out to be a great choice. It has worked flawlessly with no overheating issues at all -- after hours of charging the pigtail to the wall outlet was very slightly warm to the touch just like the OEM item that came with the car, and all the other parts are at ambient temperature.
