  • Disappointed. I like my other Leuchtturm1997's, but the graphing lines are too dark on this one.
Color: Pacific Green Style: Squared
This review is for a Pacific Green, graphed, Leuchtturm1917 notebook. I have several Leuchtturm1997 notebooks. I have used lined, dotted and now my latest is using graphing lines (see the first two photos comparing them). I generally like them and find them to be good quality for the price. However... I'll first cover the things I don't like about it and then get to what I do like. The only things I don't like about this graphed, Pacific Green notebook I have is the 2-page table of contents (see more below), and how dark the graphing lines are. My biggest issue is the graphing lines. They are not light graphing lines that can just be used as a guide in the background. They are fairly dark; not quite as dark as the lines in the lined notebook version, but still darker than I think is necessary or wanted (see photo #2 comparing the Graphed, lined and dotted Leuchtturm1917 notebooks). I was worried about this when I ordered it, but several reviews said they were light enough that they are not distracting and just fade into the background. As an engineer, I am used to engineering graphing paper that has very light graphing lines that literally do not show up when you make a photocopy (see comparison in Photo #7). These would actually get darker on a photocopy. I wanted this as something of a journal & idea book that I can use to create both journal in and make tables & graphs/sketches on. I don't think this will work for that. It is also going to be hard to journal/write over the lines as they will be very distracting. I am not sure what I will do with this notebook. Maybe I will give it to one of my kids as I doubt I can return it after taking the plastic off of it. As for things I do like about this notebook and all the others I have. I like the thickness/number of pages (this graphed and the lined have 251 usable pages; the dotted Bullet Journal has 240). They are fairly sturdy notebooks although drops or too much force will crush or break the cover just like any hardcover. The cover is not completely stiff but has a little bend to it, which is something I like as it makes it feel more like a journal/notebook that you want to keep on you rather than a textbook that should be left on the shelf. As a personal preference I like the earth tone nature/feel of the colors. There is a 2-page (facing pages) table of contents in the lined and graphed notebooks, and a 4-page index in the dotted Bullet Journal version. I prefer the 4-page index and don't understand why they can't make the table of contents 4-pages too. The paper is decent quality although my gel pens do show through a bit. That is not a big issue for me. The paper may not be "archival" quality for some, but for my needs I am sure they will last a lifetime of storage. I hope this review helps someone else. ... show more

  • Beginner Bullet Journal! It is perfect <3
Color: Berry Style: Dotted
As a beginner in bullet journaling this is now my go-to book. The pages are so clean, and the dots are never off. It makes using stencils easy! Also, the color is fabulous, and I like the bookmark and pen holder. The only downside is that it bleeds a small amount if you highlight too hard. But if you build up the color it is fine. It handles gel pens well, and I did not see much bleedover. Even the darker colors and glitter pens did well. Also, the paper is white, so the colors show up beautifully. A splendid outlet for creativity and productivity! ... show more

  • Love these
Color: Olive Style: Dotted
I love the huge array of color options and love this company. The journals are all so nice. The ONLY reason I bumped this one down to 4 stars is because the A4 is better than the A5. I have 3 of the A4s and this was my first A5. These are perfect for bullet journals or notebooks. I use these for notebooks for college. I got an A5 for my psych class because I didn't need as much space for notes/layouts per page. The A5 is smaller and has 241 pages at 80 gsm. The A4 is larger and has 235 pages at 100 gsm, so the pages are thicker and don't really bleed. I use lots of different colored pens and highlighters so I prefer the A4 paper. On the A4, you can see in the pic that the writing from my pen alone is visible through the pages. Not a huge flaw, but enough for me to lean away from the A4s. Still love this company's notebooks and will continue to buy the other ones. ... show more

  • Page numbers + nice-weight paper = perfect dot journal
Color: Pacific Green Style: Dotted
I love the page numbers on each page and the blank table of contents to organize the months/years. The paper is just the right thickness, ink doesn’t bleed onto the verso but it’s not so thick that the book weighs too much.
