  • Great Keyboard Case So Far
Size: 12.9 inch 2017(2nd Gen)&2015 (1st Gen) Color: 12.9 inch 2017&2015 Rose Gold
I normally wait a certain period of time before writing reviews, as I prefer to thoroughly test products prior to giving an assessment. However, I am so impressed by this keyboard case that it warranted an immediate review, which I will update after repeated continual use. First, the keyboard arrived on time and in perfect condition. In the box - the keyboard case and charging cable. I tested the swivel function first. The case is so well-built, it gives an appearance that the screen casing isn't meant to move. However, that is not the case at all. The swivel does exactly what it is designed to do. All angles function with ease; none place tension on the hinge. Then I checked the case for any cosmetic issues. Not a scratch. The outside has a soft silicon/rubber feel to it, which does show fingerprints rather easily, but no different than fingerprints showing up on a MacBook. I was easily able to wipe that off. But if your skin carries a lot of oils or you just applied lotion, I can see how cumbersome removing fingerprints my be. The keyboard itself is simple, with an on/off switch, a Bluetooth connect button, and three indicator lights (charge, battery, and pair). Since I have a second generation iPad Pro, this keyboard version does not have backlit keys. That would have been nice, but no deal breaker as it wasn't necessary. After my inspection of the the external appearance of the hardware, I charged it. The indicator lights functioned as noted in the user manual, which says it take a full three hours to charge initially. I can't verify the time, as I had it on the charger all night. This morning I popped in my iPad and followed the directions to pair. SIMPLE. This was the easiest keyboard to pair with my iPad. Then I decided to test the functionality of the keys. Hence writing this review using the keyboard. The keyboard is more than adequate in size. Those with extra large hands may see some issue with the keyboard, especially if they have caveman typing skills, but overall the keyboard is great. The keys aren't noise-free, but they are no different than typing on a regular keyboard. To me, they are slightly less clicky and typing feels very similar to typing on my wireless Apple keyboard. With the iPad installed, the keyboard case weighs roughly 4.5 lbs, which is not a lot, but because we live in a world where everything is becoming larger but lighter, this will appear heavy to most people. I also like to use my iPad as a Nook Book, and I figure holding this in my hand for extended periods would probably aggravate my arthritis, but I have yet to test that out. It's weighty but STURDY. This is not some flimsy plastic case. It feels very protective, and honestly, LENRICH could have charged more in my humble opinion. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the Apple Pencil compartment..... on the right side of the keyboard, there is a compartment for the Apple Pencil. It is not a spring-loaded compartment like some mentioned. It's literally a hollow hole designed to store your Apple Pencil and very useful!!! The pencil isn't completely flush with the width of the hole, so there is no chance in hell the pencil is getting stuck. I cannot speak for other keyboard models, and maybe at one point this keyboard did have a spring-loaded compartment as some complained about, but the one I received thankfully doesn't. I can't speak about battery-life nor long-term durability as I have had this case for less than 24-hours. However, this is a great buy, especially for older generation iPad Pros. Other cases were janky and unattractive looking, and I am pleased with my purchase. Also, the seller has a lifetime warranty. So if something crazy were to go wrong, just contact customer service, provide them a copy of your purchase receipt, and from what I understand, they will ship you a replacement free of charge. You can't beat that! I will update this review after several months of use and provide further feedback, but as for now, if you're thinking about a functional keyboard case that is esthetically pleasing and well-built, I suggest you snag this before it's no longer available. ... show more

Size: 12.9 inch 2017(2nd Gen)&2015 (1st Gen) Color: 12.9 inch 2017&2015 Black
UPDATE 2/15/2018: The actual keyboard is working better than I have ever thought possible! The battery lasts so long that I have regularly forget to charge the thing (and I use it quite a lot), yet I have never - NEVER - had it die on me (except during the first testing before I even charged it for the first time). I have used it during college for my English class for easily 8+ hours without it dying on me. Another neat feature that I was unaware of was that after a while of not using it (I would say around 30 minutes or so) the keyboard shuts off by itself. That probably helps with the battery lasting so long. The key strokes seem to have gotten better as well, with only a key stroke not registering once in a great while (hardly ever). The only bad things with this keyboard case is the Apple Pencil holder (the spring loaded one) no longer holds the Pencil in place anymore, so if I hold the iPad with the opening facing the ground, the Pencil WILL fall down. That has only happened once to me so far (I have become quite good at making sure that I hold the iPad so that the Pencil does not face down, so it's doable). As soon as I slid the Apple Pencil in the holder for the first time I knew that it wouldn't last. I can live with it. The only other problem is that the swivel on the case, while it still works great, feels really loose, almost like it's going come loose. I predicted as much as soon as I got it, but seeing as how it hasn't actually broken yet, I take that as a good sign. I'll update this review when/if it actually breaks. All in all, this case has blown away my expectations, with the Apple Pencil holder being the only thing that I originally predicted to break to actually break. A great product for the price! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Here is a REAL review, written by a REAL customer. I’m not sure how all these fake reviews are getting allowed by Amazon, seeing as how fake they are (I mean, you can OBVIOUSLY see the Google Translate in these reviews). Anyway, I am writing this review on the keyboard. Installation was easy, just take the iPad and push it into the top holder and it’s done. Feels kind of flimsy, but I guess time will tell on how long this lasts. Another thing that should be noted is that there is NO, I say again NO padding on this thing. So, yeah, I wouldn’t recommend dropping it (but really, who wakes up in the morning at says I feel like dropping my super expensive iPad Pro today). Then again, there aren’t any keyboard cases that offer great protection against dropping. If that’s a big concern for you, just buy an Otter Box Defender and a BlueTooth Keyboard separately. Pairing the keyboard took me two times before it connected. The keys aren't super high quality, but I’ve typed on worse with actual laptops. The shortcut keys are pretty nice, the keys themselves are pretty well spaced. It's basically like a regular laptop, except no number pad. A few things that I don't like right out the box, though. First is the Apple Pencil spring loaded holder. The spring feels fine, but as soon as you push it in and replace the cap (something that WILL get lost as soon as possible because there is no connector to hold the thing down), the spring releases. *UPDATE* After using the case for the evening the stopper for the hole that the Pencil goes in got stuck. I couldn’t get it out, even with tweezers I couldn’t get it out. In the end I had to push the cap all the way into the hole until it twists, THEN I could pull it out with tweezers. Also, sometimes (enough times that it makes me nervous) it took me awhile to get the Pencil out of the hole. It might be as simple as the Apple Pencil being too smooth that I couldn’t get a good enough grip, or it could be (more than likely) that the built-in holder is just too deep (or maybe the spring release is just not strong enough). Another thing is every thousand (or so) key strokes seems to not register with the iPad. This is, and I have to stress, a very MINOR issue, as every thousand (or so) strokes is pretty damn good (I was getting the same with an official Apple Magic Keyboard). People complaining or even wanting illuminated keys should look elsewhere. These aren't, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I have no idea yet what the battery for the keyboard is yet, as the keyboard died right out the box within about 30 minutes of me messing around. Pretty good, so far though, as it held a charge for that long. And yes, you have to charge the keyboard separate from the iPad (someone was complaining about that), and let me be clear: This is a cheap keyboard case. It isn’t cheaply made, yet it doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles that some of the others on here do. Overall, so far, I am quite happy with this product. There were no flaws so far, at least nothing that would make me not recommend this product to others. It IS very heavy, but not SO heavy that it will make carrying it uncomfortable. Even with the added weight of this case, the iPad Pro is still WAY lighter than any laptop I’ve held. In conclusion, after using this thing throughout the evening and into the morning I am quite happy with it, despite the flaws that this case has. The Apple Pencil holder is a pretty big deal with me, but this is simply a minor inconvenience in the grant scheme of things. This isn’t flashy, but I got what I paid for. The swivel screen makes me a tad nervous simply because I have no idea what its made of or how durable it is. My biggest fear is that it will break, disconnect and drop my iPad on the floor. BUT, that hasn’t happened yet, and I am being super careful with it (the only time I use the swivel is when I turned the keyboard around to use the iPad as a drawing table). So far, this isn’t that bad. If you’re looking for more, go spend the money. If you aren’t made of money (like me), this is a great, cheap keyboard case. It has everything that you would need, and the keyboard (the main function of this case) works perfectly. ... show more

  • So glad I found this case.
Size: 12.9 inch 2017(2nd Gen)&2015 (1st Gen) Color: 12.9 inch 2017&2015 Rose Gold
I have an iPad Pro, 12.9, 2017 second generation. It's hard to find a case for an older ipad. And since I really wanted a keyboard, I had very few choices. Just got the case today, but I'm very happy with the Bluetooth connectivity and the keyboard itself. Other reviewers have commented on the weight of the case. It's not light, but I generally use it at my desk anyway. The rose gold is darker than I thought it would be, but I like it. I'll update this review if I have any issues. ... show more
