  • Had to reset windows
Size: 40GB|2TB SSD
The laptop arrived even a day earlier. For some reason, there was a label on the box with the wrong description. Like we ordered 2TB ssd and 40GB ram, but on the label it was 512 ssd and 16 ram. Fortunately, the real ssd and ram were as we ordered. So it was just a confusing label. The second problem was with Windows 11. The taskbar and start button were broken completely, I've tried to repair them with advice from the internet. But the only option that worked for me was to reset Windows. Works fine for now. ... show more

  • Pretty fast but not so great battery life
Size: 40GB|1TB SSD
I haven't had this for very long (2 days) and if anything changes I will try and update this review. I was originally looking for an Ideapad as this was my current laptop (after trying some other options), but is kind of old/slow now and the battery life is terrible. One thing I would say is for $150 more you get can get an extra 24GB of ram, which I did and I'm glad that I did. It boots fast (as you would expect). I don't do much more than web browse, run Bluestacks, play casual games but with quite a bit of cut scenes, and stream video. I can be doing all those things at the same time and the CPU/Memory is barely utilized. I would expect you could also run Zoom and Microsoft Office apps at the same time if you're using it for business purposes. So, I'm really hoping I can keep this for a long time. The only issue I have found so far is the one thing I was initially hoping to rectify: battery life. Running the things I listed above gave me just under 2.5 hours of use before I had to plug it in. I don't know if this is a side-effect of running 10 cores or not, but I wish a stronger battery was installed. I'd have even paid more money. It does make noise and you can hear and feel like a clicking (which to me sounds/feels like an HDD instead of an SSD). I looked up the drive models and reached out to the seller about this. I was able to confirm that the drives are in fact SSD on my own but the seller also got back to me fairly quickly and assured me that the drives are SSD (I feel like this bodes well for the kind of support you can expect if needed). Overall I am pretty happy with this machine and as I stated with the upgraded RAM I am hopeful I can use this machine for quite some time. Even my old Ideapad works mostly fine but it only has 8GB of RAM and it runs at almost 100% at times and things can start freezing up. I tried a Microsoft Surface Pro and an Asus Zenbook 14 Ultra Slim. I was very unimpressed with the Surface (touchscreen was slow and didn't recognize input a lot of the time, I would have to double or triple press to get it to respond). The Zenbook wouldn't turn on all the time when pressing the power button. It was a gamble every time). I actually ended up buying this machine and an Ideapad 14 slim; I got both for $150 (the extra RAM) more than the other 2 machines (Surface, Zenbook) and for me this is a superior set up. The touchscreen works great on every Lenovo I have ever had and the 14 Slim will actually run all of the things I like for about 7 hours. I really wish this Thinkbook had a beefier battery for sure, but it will mostly be sitting at a desk and I will use the new Ideapad for traveling. ***Edit 4-14-2023*** I changed my rating to 5 stars. I had a minor issue with the warranty that I discovered when I registered the machine with Lenovo. I sent a message to Issaquah Highlands Tech, they responded within a few hours, I explained the problem, and they assured me that they would take care of it. A few days later it was resolved. It probably took a few days to correct because they had to contact Lenovo. My experience with this seller has been very good. If they're still around the next time I'm in the market for a new laptop I will definitely be checking them first. Also, I wanted to post this because I see so many 1 star reviews form people on here and they never try to contact the seller first. If you order from Issaquah Highlands Tech and something is not right, contact them before posting a bad review. I am quite positive they will do what it takes to correct the problem. ... show more

  • This laptop includes a number pad and a 15.6 inch screen and is still light weight in my opinion.
Size: 40GB|1TB SSD
I am appalled at difficulty I am having navigating the new Windows 11. Of course, because I am 80+ years old, this may just be because of my lowered capacity to adapt to changes.

  • Functional with Linux after some effort
Size: 40GB|1TB SSD
I purchased the computer for Linux use exclusively. The specs are more than adequate for my purposes and Linux provides near complete functionality (the fingerprint reader is not supported and the touch screen behaves a bit strangely when other monitors are connected; otherwise, all seems fine). It's worth noting, though, that the laptop is less than Linux friendly for setup. Under Debian's stable distribution of a 5.10 kernel, the mousepad, wifi, thunderbolt, and brightness adjustment are all broken; a 6.1 kernel corrects all but the wifi, which requires a driver not included in any current Debian distributions (still acquirable). A bit far from just working for any would-be beginners. ... show more

  • I'm jealous of my wife's new computer
Size: 40GB|2TB SSD
I bought this for my wife. The processor is fast, the memory is great, the features and everything about it is perfect. I have zero complaints other than the fact that my wife has a computer that is better than mine.

  • This may be one of the worst laptops I've owned
Size: 16GB|512GB SSD
This thing locks up a lot. It probably gets rebooted at least every other day and some of those it does it by itself. Battery life is poor, maybe 3 hours with the screen on dim. I wouldn't buy this one again. Form factor is good, weight and screen are good. It just keeps getting worse. It needs to be rebooted every other day. ... show more
