This is the second and third set I've ordered, and they're even cooler than they used to be, with more colors and a different remote with more modes. My first strand only died because Hurricane Milton flooded my driveway and garage, soaking the plug. The poor guys held on for a little while, until they just couldn't continue on. Oh well, good solid product at a good price. I had my first strand for about a year and a half. The media could not be loaded. Just the 1 string works really well for my space. I had outdoor string lights but they were too bright for just the patio so these are fun and better for mood lighting. I mostly keep them on a warm tone but I'll play around with the scenes more on the app. Not super bright, but that's why I like them! ... show more

I have searched for USB powered lights for a while and these are my favorite! There are so many different lighting options and can be adjusted by the power cord, the remote or even the app. I would by these again a million times!!

Lights Pro: The variety of color options on the lights is fun. There are a lot of colors to choose from. The music mode feature is really cool. It really does light up when it detects sound which is really fun. The brighter colors help to give a decent little glow around the patio area at night. Con: The strings are individual. I wish I could order multiple strings that would attach to one another to make them longer. Control Pro: There is a simple on/off button and a button to select the solid color light choices on the string itself. Con: From what I can tell you can only access music mode and other extra light features using the remote. I hope I don’t accidentally lose the remote because the extra light modes are what makes the light string really cool! The remote control only works a few inches away from the receiver on the light string and you have to point at a certain side of the receiver which is a bit annoying. Hanging Pro: There is a little loop on the end of the string I can easily attach to a hook to hang that side. Con: There aren’t any hooks or anything to help hang the start of the light string between the plug and the start of the first light. I wish there was a little loop or something just before the first light on the string so I could more easily hang the lights. Quality Pro: The lights are plastic spheres. They felt thick enough that I didn’t feel like I was going to break them when setting them up. Con: The string is very thin. That’s good and bad. Good because it is super lightweight but bad because I was afraid I was going to snap the string if I pulled and stretched it too hard while untangling and hanging it. Overall: These lights are cool and unique. Once they are set up the way you want with the color settings you want they make the area look great. ... show more

I actually took these apart to use in an art project. The colors and preprogrammed patterns are very nice. The flash along with music function, is OK, it's not exactly a laser light show, but it does pulse on and off with loud music. I have not used the remote or the app, but the controls on the cord work very well, and is simple to use. The cord is very light and minimalistic which I think is a plus. I've included some photos of the guts when I took them apart in case that helps other artists. The plug is about 2 in long. It is a wall wart transformer. Then there is the control module which has a microphone and two rubbery buttons, that's about three and a half inches long. The round diffusers you can see are about 1.5 in in diameter. There is a little plastic clip that pulls right off with a pliers, inside. The thin wire is wrapped around the translucent plastic armature shown in the photo. It is very simple to simply unwrap the wire from the armature and now you have a string of polychromatic LED lights on a nice thin cord. ... show more

I love these lights but wouldn't buy them again. I purchased them to take camping and to hang around the campsite. The lights themselves are great. Bright colors with wonderful programs built-in that can be accessed via the remote control or by the phone app. THE BIGGEST DOWNFALL TO THESE IS THE CHEAP, THIN WIRE THAT CONNECTS THE LIGHTS. Much less substantial than the wire used for Christmas lights, it feels like it could snap at any moment. I ended up having to run some twine for the lights to hang from to protect the wire. I expected better quality for the price but will enjoy them until they fall apart. THEY ARE CLEARLY DISPOSABLE. ... show more

The bulbs are bigger than expected! These lights have several color and motion options. They are bright!
