The media could not be loaded. I bought this because it will be extra bright and energy efficient, but found installation frustrating. I was replacing a 20 year old fixture that kept shorting and blowing costly halogen bulbs - it had to go. First, the screws provided for this fixture don’t fit into a standard wiring receptical (diameter is right, but the threads are too widely spaced) so I needed to use the original screws. This fixture is not configured to allow me to use the metal ceiling anchor, so I had to use one of the manufacturer-provided screws and simply drive it into drywall. It seems this is a misunderstanding of how fixture anchors are designed in the US market. The light weight of the fixture made this possible, but it it certainly not ideal - I prefer a tidy, by the books installation for lighting fixtures. I have been installing lighting fixtures for decades on various properties of all ages, for 100+ year old houses to modern construction. This is the first time I’ve had to resort to this as a workaround! If this were an older home with lathe and plaster, I would have needed to go to the hardware store to purchase something (undesirable anytime, but especially now in the midst of a pandemic). The wiring colors were unfamiliar to me (red/blue) and there are no instructions. I’m used to working with back, white or red. I found conflicting info on the Internet about what colors represented a live wire, so eventually I did think to check here and learned that the red wire is LIVE. I don’t use a dimmer switch in my closet, so connected the blue fixture wire to the ceiling white wire. No need to ground this fixture, nice. Another inconvenience was that the wires are essentially fused together with only about an inch to connect to your ceiling wires. An inch is truly not enough to use a standard twist cap/connector...and no smaller caps were included in the box. So...using a box cutter, I carefully cut the insulation to allow for the fixture wires to be connected to the ceiling wires. If I had slipped, I might have cut the wire insulation. Of course this mistake could be repaired with electrical tape, but again this was a undesirable possibility. After all this complaining, I do like the light. It is VERY bright, and I would never ever use this in a living room, dining room or office. It is a bright harsh white, and I can certainly see why a dimmer would be needed. However, my use is in a very dark closet, so it works extremely well. I don’t usually write product reviews, but the difficulties I experienced made me want to write this one. ... show more

    • Have a love hate relationship with these

Overall these are great for the price. They look good and are very bright. The two cons are the mounting system and wires. The detachable mount has 4 rail type holes in a cross shaped setup, which can make mounting these over an existing wiring fixture a pain in the butt. If you don't get the mount perfectly flush with the ceiling, the light will have a gap wherever it's not flush - which makes it look terrible. You cant really tell if it's not flush either until you rotate it all the way into the locked position. Can be very frustrating, don't try mounting these with one person. Second con is the wires. The wires are very thin and only come with a small section of the ends exposed. I had to remove a good half inch of insulation on them to have it properly stay connected to my house wiring. If you aren't good at wire stripping I'd stay away from these, as it's easy to cut too deep into the thin wire. TLDR - If you are good at mounting things and wire surgery then these are great lights. ... show more

We had 2 of these installed on the ceiling. It took 20 minutes, tops. Our ceiling is low, so we wanted lights with a low profile. These are perfect. The room is 24' by 14' with a 7 ft. ceiling. 2 of these light up the space just fine. They are really bright lights.

I love the slim, streamlined profile of this light. It is chic and modern and great for my minimalist tastes. This light is SO bright that I might need to add a dimmer switch! I've never had sufficient lighting in my guest bathroom and for the first time, this space exudes HAPPINESS! There is one thing I noticed. I hear a sizzling or hissing sound when the light is on. Haven't used it since and will wait until I can have it looked at. We did need a taller ladder at the time of install so hoping that it's a simple connection adjustment. I love this lighting so much that even with this observation I cannot rate less than five stars. The directions required/suggested drilling (I think). This was not necessary with my existing hardware. And no...I did not install it myself. ... show more

    • Nice looking bright light but Not easy to install without three hands

Very bright light that is thin and good looking. BUT I do not understand all the comments about easy to install. The base is easy to install with three screws with dry wall sockets. BUT then you must hold the light up at the base and with your two other hands connect the live and null wires to the 'ceiling wires.' Very awkward to stand at the ceiling and have to hold the light with a hand that is also holding two wires together so the other hand can either tape the connection or screw on a connector. Design should have the connections in the base and when you screw on the light to the base there is an internal connection. NOT east to install, sorry. ... show more

The lights themselves are awesome. Bright and fulfills needs. My wife is ecstatic. My only complaint however only a small one is please make the pigtails a few inches longer. While they do work they are inconvenient and a little difficult to use. I made this a 5 star only because the light is excellent however I could have made it a 4 star due to the pigtails. ... show more

I bought this bulb to replace 2 LED bulb of 5000K in my kitchen to look neat. The light is very bright and cool while. It gave same brightness as 2 LED bulb of 75 watt each was giving. Regarding the installation, yes it was little struggle. This is because the frame has three hole 120 degree apart, while US junction box has 2 hole 180 degree apart. So there is no match. But I used one of the hole of junction box and drill 2 holes. But one of my hole in sheet rock broke. I found with two screws the frame was very stable. The light is low weight so there is no issue. Some presence of mind and workaround can fix the installation issue. If the frame is 1 or 2 inch larger in diameter then the installation could have been much easier. all 3 holes could have been drilled far from junction box. With the current design and brittleness of sheet rock making it hard. ... show more
