  • Mixed feelings on this EVSE
Like that this has the option to charge at Level 1 or Level 2 - more flexibility than a lot of other EVSEs out there. Additionally - 21 foot cable is longer than many I researched. Carrying case it comes with it sturdy and a nice touch, and the charger is pretty no frills - no wifi or any other bells or whistles. That said, Lectron really needs to figure out if this thing is 12 amp or 16 amp for Level 1 charging (maybe they changed it at some point?). All over the Amazon listing and Lectron's website it says 12 amp. Everything in the manual and on the box says 16amp (another reviewer posted a pic of the box and you can see it clearly says 16 amp), which has me annoyed when I open it since I'm unsure if I have a 15-amp or 20-amp breaker for my outlet the garage (I hadn't checked since I figured this thing was 12 amp so I'd be ok). I plug it in and figure if it trips the breaker it must be 16amp and I'll get that breaker upgraded. Low and behold the breaker doesn't trip and it charges along just fine, with my car reporting what should be a 12-amp rate of charging (about 1.2-1.3 kWh). Grrrr. Truly annoying since the box it came in and the manual say 16 amp EVERYWHERE. Also, no U/L or other certification if that's important to you. Just got a 240v outlet in the garage, with a 50 amp breaker. Plugged it in and it's working fine at 32 amp so far. Getting about 7.3-7.4 kWh rate on it, which is about what I expected. Took a star off for the 12/16 amp silliness and because of no U/L or other certification. ... show more

  • Great product for good price !
So I haven’t don’t a long term review but I feel that this product is built well and is very easy to use. Very convenient to have both the 100v and 240v cords for either option. I’ve tried this on my brothers Hyundai Ioniq 5 and it was charging at like 7.3kWH and that’s great. Given that is on a 50amp breaker so I’m maximizing the 32 amps I can use on this unit. I would recommend this. Wish there was a slightly cheaper version for a secondary cord to bring in the car. I’ll have to decide if I need to buy another one. Oh! And it comes with a nice carrying case ! Thx good luck ... show more

  • Had an issue and they took care of it immediately
Shut off after five minutes, works on 120 not 240. The company did reach out to me. After trying the second one it works fine, and in fact very satisfied with the charger on both 120 and 240. It charges very quickly and appears to be good quality. This company does stand behind their product and was very outreaching to make sure I was taken care of....I gave it four stars only because the first one did not work correctly, otherwise this is a five star product. ... show more

  • Good quality and works well.
This charger is well made and works well. I like the adaptability to use different inputs. I keep it in the car for charging at homes of friends when visiting overnight. The zippered storage case is also well made.

  • Worked fine, no issues.
Bought as a second charge cable to leave in the car, chose this model since it can do level 1 and level 2 charging. Used once with NEMA plug to verify it worked, it did with no issues to report. Inexpensive vs manufacture provided cable. Storage case is nice for storage in car (fits under c40 rear deck storage, but not in frunk). Build quality seems decent, but not as nice as Volvo cable (cable is thinner, swappable plug design not as nice as OEM) feels cheaper, but then again it is. Seems like a decent unit/value charger. ... show more

  • Not UL listed & not clear what yellow ring means from instruction manual
The Lectron Level 1 / Level 2 Portable J1772 EV Charger (12 Amp / 32 Amp) with Dual Charging Plugs (NEMA 5-15 & 14-50) - Compatible with All J1772 EVs (White) EV charger is not UL listed. It's a big deal in the US. Hooking this charger up to an expensive EV seems like a gamble especially given its price. For $350 it should be UL listed, especially given that the Tesla Mobile Connector is $230 and it is UL listed. The cardboard box it came in says it is CE-marked, but the device itself is not CE-marked. So is it or is it not CE-marked? (see photos). The instruction manual is unclear on what the yellow LED ring means (see photos). All of the photos and diagrams in the instruction manual show a green LED ring. The "Charging status table" in the manual and on the back of the charger suggests that 3 yellow LED lights and a yellow outer ring mean "Overvoltage and undervoltage protection". But no mention of 3 green LED lights and a yellow outer ring. I went to Lectron's website ... nothing about a yellow outer ring. Searched the internet ... the only thing that comes up is the following Amazon review: By Adam L. Ayers in the United States on December 27, 2022 The outer ring lights up green and all the lights are green when using the level 1 attachment. When using the level 2 attachment the outer ring is yellow all the lights are green. Has worked flawlessly for our 4XE. ... show more

  • (Updated) Seems to work, but came scratched up
Updating my previous 2 star review. The scratches were on a plastic film. This is what I originally thought but when I tried to find the edge to remove, it didn't seem to have one and I didn't want to create more damage. After a week of sitting in a warm garage, the plastic film softened and I was able to remove the film easily. Fast charger, works great. ... show more
