  • Multipurpose Educational Toy
Style: Rumble & Bumble
This is a cute toy on its own, but it also has the ability to educate without kids knowing it. The "momma" (as we call it) dinosaur has different controls including directions and if you press and hold a button down then the same buttons that act as directions also allow a play mode where the dinosaur can dance and be "pet". We usually start out with a little lesson or challenge, asking my children to work together and take turns, and then after we have worked on it together, the kids like to continue to play with the toys. I like walking into the room and seeing them dance with the dinosaur or teach each other things. If you have dinosaur lovers and want to teach them programming, logic, and taking turns, then this can be a great tool. ... show more

  • Interactive Dinos Great for Easy Coding Fun!
Style: Rumble & Bumble
The media could not be loaded. Our two boys (5 and 2) were ecstatic when they opened the Coding Critters! I love that Rumble was ready to use and code right out of the box (as soon as his batteries were added) plus the storybook that came along with the set was very sweet and simple to follow along. These dino loving kids had a blast building the set and knocking it over and felt like accomplished coders 30 minutes in! They also loved the play features, particularly “dance mode”. Highly recommend as an early and adorably fun STEM toy. ... show more

  • It's ok, could entertain a child..
Style: Rumble & Bumble
I wouldn't say the toy is bad, but the execution needs work. It's a little tough to figure out how you're supposed to even play with it, plus it seems the pieces will get lost pretty easily. I like it though.

  • Fun for different ages and abilities
Style: Rumble & Bumble
This product is great fun. I run an afterschool STEM club for Kindergarteners through 2nd graders. I purchased this product to see if my kids could use it and if it would be a good addition to our coding robots. I think they are great. My kids really enjoy it. My 5-year-old is able to program the robot to crash into things and drag the magnetic bolder around. My three-year-old likes to play with the dino in "play" mode. I have put 2 of each of the variety on my current Donors Choose project for our STEM Club. ... show more

  • Fun
Style: Rumble & Bumble
The main Dino is bigger than expected! My older kids play with it more than the 3 yr old it was bought for, she doesn’t quite get how to “code” it. Very simple to use, though. Just push the arrow buttons on top of Dino in any seaquence you want then the circle button in the center and he drives and makes noises. Nose is magnetic too. Some of his cardboard accessories won’t last long though lol ... show more

  • Wonderful for children
Style: Rumble & Bumble
Bought as a gift for our 5 y/o niece for Christmas. She LOVED it. With all of her gifts, she opened this one right away and played allllll day with it! Great buy.

  • Doesn’t measure up to botley
Style: Rumble & Bumble
My 4 1/2 year old likes this, but not as much as he likes botley, which he also got for Christmas. It hasn’t quite lived up to my expectations though for a couple of reasons. The first is that even when it is in coding mode, it will move randomly as if to remind you that it is turned on. This is a problem if you attempt to read the story book with it because while you are reading and rearranging the scenery to match the book, the robot will randomly wander off. It even does this while you’re trying to code it. So, if the goal is a device that will teach kids about coding and cause and effect, this isn’t ideal. But, it is cute and my 4 year old has gotten a solid 15 minutes of fun out of play mode. On a related note, the play mode dance music gets annoying after multiple consecutive plays. If you’re looking for a coding robot for a preschooler, botley is better (same company, slightly more expensive, but much more engaging and will age better as it has much greater capability) ... show more

  • Excellent gift for 4 year-old
Style: Rumble & Bumble
This was requested by my sister-in-law for her grandchild. I watched her unwrap it: she was thrilled. She is about 4 years of age.
